Update Speculation thread

Why would you want the SBR4 in particular to have a new sound? After all, it sounds great compared to the old V8 sound that it used to have. If anything, the T-Series is the one that needs a new sound.

OT: At this point, I think it's reasonable to assume that the update will happen somewhere in the middle of the Steam Black Friday Sale (Nov. 22-28). In fact, that may be what the devs are planning on doing; capitalize on the Black Friday sale by providing a massive new update with WCA and tons of new features, and then reap in all the cash from everyone's purchases or re-purchases of Beam.

 

Re-purchases? Is that a thing on Steam? Why buy a game you already have?

 

People who've refunded because a lack of content, no NOS, bad performance, etc.

 

Not new sounds for just the SBR4 but modified sounds for different variants of the car

 

There are two days until Thanksgiving which is before Black Friday so yeah I'm guessing there is potential for an update to be released tomorrow (my time), Thursday or Friday, but this is just speculation of course.

 

Speaking of updates, I've been trying to figure out if there is a possibility that the devs could be hiding any info on the Bluebuck until the last minute, which I believe they did with the last pre-release screenshot of the Hopper.

Just in case, I'm talking about this one, uploaded on the 13th of April, the day before the 0.9 devblog was written, and when the Ibishu Hopper video was uploaded to Youtube. I'm guessing that's around the time the update dropped, if my memory serves me correctly. It was months ago, I don't 100% remember everything.


I think it would make sense to keep any confirmation of the Bluebuck secret until the time would be more appropriate, as we all have an idea what would happen. WCA could be an exception since we've kinda known about it for a while now, and it probably wouldn't draw as much attention as the Bluebuck would, especially if the last pre-release screenshot looked as promising as the Hoppers.

What I'm talking about is in the Development Screenshots, and probably posted by none other than Gabester himself. The kind of screens that absolutely seals the deal.

The devs have released the last 3 updates at times when I was out of town on vacation. Based solely on the fact that I leave in two days and come back over the weekend, I'm going to guess that it'll drop in that timeframe.

 

Perhaps there is a chance of a vehicle arriving in 0.11 (even if it's rather slim), but the thing is that most of the time, we often have had screenshots that hinted at vehicle development at least a couple weeks before the vehicle showed up in the next update. We haven't seen a single in-game screenshot of the Bluebuck yet, and I think that's for a very good reason. After what happened before the release of the Hopper (BeamNG.hype, 50+ pages of spam in this thread, its own thread going down the tubes within a day, far too much hype being spammed about, etc.) I don't think we'll ever see very many sneak peeks into what's happening in vehicle development. That's a bit of a shame, but I guess that's pretty much the only way to cut down on all the hype-spam.

 

You have a point. It would make sense if they kept a new vehicle secret.. (To keep all the spam, and hype down.)

People going apeshit and spamming is precisely the reason I think that's why the devs could perhaps be waiting to show us the first ingame screen of the Bluebuck. You never know, they may do what they did with the Hopper. We got a couple of screenshots of it here and there, but the final nail in the coffin was really hammered down when that one screenshot in the Development Screenshots #2 thread was uploaded.

I could be wrong, and we may not see a new car until another update. Let's just see what happens by either the 23rd - 24th, or at the end of November.

 

Anyone’s ideas on the new Bluebuck possibly coming out to BeamNG?

Saw it 1 week ago, got hyped. I wanna see people’s opinions on the car.

Ok seriously, I’m liking the new updates planned for this game, like the west coast and the Bluebuck (a old 1963 Sedan, I believe.).

 

I like the Bluebuck. For some reason, one car it reminds me of is the Chevrolet Impala, though it's obvious that the Dodge 880 influenced its design. The taillights does put me in the mind of the 63 Impala though.

There's also a reason I'm really hoping the Bluebuck and WCA is released together. It was said that the Bluebuck was a possible choice for a lowrider, and when you do research on the history of lowriders, it would just makes sense to release them together.

As for its release, I see four options on how it may be released.
1. My recent theories turn out to be correct, and we'll see a screenshot of it ingame up to a couple of days before the update drops.
2. The devs will release it without telling us, making it one heck of a surprise.
3. It won't be released with 0.11.
4. There is also a possibility of it being released for a 0.11 hotfix. I believe this is how the Burnside was released.

 

I personally am most hyped to compare the Bluebuck to the Miramar. After all, they both are from 1963, and I'd love to see how well the Bluebuck compares to the Miramar spec-for-spec around VR City. Chasing that big boat down with a little Japanese sedan...that would be exciting.

True, it could be released with a 0.11 hotfix, but we haven't had anything like the 0.5 era of updates since...well...the 0.5 era of updates. I highly doubt that the devs will be wanting to do anything like 0.5.1 for a long, long while, considering how almost every update from 0.6 onwards are spaced 2-4 months apart. The 0.9 updates are an exception (along with 0.6.1), but I wouldn't count on a 0.11.1 update happening at all.
