I was playing Ridge Racer V when I realised that the official renders of the Rivelta Solare are very different to the in game car so I made a second, colourable skin based off of the one in game - my previous one was purely based on the renders and isn't colourable. Then I realised, after beating the first GP for the first time, that there was more than one paint style per car, and some that had to be unlocked by getting to a certain point in the game and because there are barely any screenshots of the Solare anywhere at all, I have to do a bunch of races (in a car that suddenly becomes a drift trike if ever so slightly tap the brake) just to make some skins.
In this case it isn't even quality over quantity anymore, it's hours worth of 'research' and recreating logos, and five minutes actually putting the skin together and getting it in game.
But I like doing it, so I can't complain.
