They do work. I haven't looked if they are triggered and change if you stop at the lights(like the drag strip lights) but the times that i have it would have went to green eventually.
Lackluster performance, a dissapointingly small suburban area, a dissapointingly small city that cuts out in the middle of city center, a massive monument (The bridge) that is blocked off and leads to a wall. I love WCUSA, dont take me wrong, but those are things that bug me a little bit.
What graphics settings are you on? I play on lowest and I've only noticed the christmas tree changing, not the intersection lights.
I really enjoy the map, but the cut roads are a bit too noticeable all the time, I feel a bit caged even if it is a large map.
I love the map despite having a low framerate on any graphics settings above Low. Really diverse map with AWESOME race and dirt tracks! Exactly what I was hoping for. I also feel like cars are somewhat easier to drive after the update. Stiffer, more consistent and smoother handling. Most noticable in rallies. Is it just me or is anyone else able to notice this?
Strangely, my game freezes whenever I try to select a vehicle. (Edit) it's fixed. My charger was plugged in.
No obvious issues with this map so far. Get a playable framerate by taking dynamic reflections to almost nil. WCUSA is stunning and the amount of work put into it is breathtaking. Yeah, there's lots of clean up to be done but in the big picture this map presents a whole new level of detail and atmosphere. Impressive stuff.
With all that have been said above .... the sound of screaming V8 during full throttle pull in the silent streets with slight echo makes it amazing. All mistakes are forgiven.
I honestly feel as if the city could be bigger, I would love to see something intersting on that island. Perhaps a very affluent suburban area with driveways that could take you into the garages.
I have such a bad laptop i run 15fps on lowest settings. I would love to see the traffic lights working, because they did work on lowest settings in the mod map Expressway. And the road signs are so blurry, even if i zoom into them, its doesnt show letters. thx to that guy who posted like a milion screenshots above so i could actually read the signs XD
I do agree on the city being a bit small but I guess its the issue of putting too much in a fairly small map size (for modern open world gaming standards that is) Still it's not bad for what they were limited to graphics engine wise. I do hope they fix the issues with some of the driveways /garages in the residential area and floating side decals on some buildings in the next few hot fixes. An automotive wreckers yard would be a nice addition and can function as a car dealership in the upcoming career mode.
The map seems to be awesome, but I can't really tell since I get awful performance on it. The time has probably come to update my hardware.
You're welcome! Also, I just spent the past hour taking even more screenshots. I'm going to break BeamNG's servers at this rate. I really like how detailed this map is, to be honest...tons and tons of stuff to explore and see. Why, I'm spending more time screenshotting WCA than I am driving in it so far. Some of this might be useful information for career mode, and a lot of it is really well-made, but overall, WCA might be the perfect map for me to start taking loads of screens on. Whether it will be good to drive on, though...that's a question I'll have to answer this weekend, or even later. Also, I'm getting quite good FPS from Beam on my craptop; 15-18 FPS unpaused isn't great compared to ECA, but plenty good enough for a city map. Spoiler: TONS MORE SCREENS
