The reason I asked that question is because personally I'm not a fan of 'rebranded' cars (basically a real life car that has just the badging and name changed, eg. Oldsfullsize, Fait One, Hirochi Prasu) and I was wondering if the stock version of this car is going to be different to a C3, and not just a rebranded vehicle. If we're going to stick to the BeamNG lore, I was hoping that this new car is going to be a unique vehicle that looks like it came from the BeamNG universe and not just another copy, paste, edited real life car. However, these are just my thoughts which you might find idiosyncratic.
To each their own. It will be a bit too close for your liking I guess, its already too far along to change anything like that :/
Some simple things you can do to make it more in game lore friendly is change light shapes and so forth. The circular rear lights of course need to stay as they are very corvette and essentially are a very iconic peice of the car. For example the Hopper was a remake of the jeep and all they did was change a few minor details to make it fit into the lore of the game. With that said you can change the shape of the front headlights and add multiple "aftermarket" variants so people can make the car more like the original. Something like a single square popup or perhapse three small circular lights just so its different.
I really like this car. I have a couple names thought up here. Gavril Quaker,Gavril Ruckus,Gavril Bullet,or the Gavril Blade.
And it's current placeholder name sounds like a modern Korean crossover or minivan trying to sound sporty by literally having sport in it's name.
Wider arches for racecar variants would be nice, and sidepipes would make performance variants look more aggressive.
It could be called the "Avenger" (ship class name) or "Superiore", which means "Superior" in Italian. I know it is American, but maybe it could have been styled by Italians? Looks great, can't wait to drive it!
Guys I dont think he is taking anymore suggestions for names seeing as its become a shit show of random names. Just choose from one of the options in the poll.
Why not just don't rename it. You can post the file in first post of this thread. You don't need repo.
I'm pretty sure he wants this vehicle on the repo so it doesn't get totally lost in all the other vehicle threads, as many do. Heck, he could post a real-badged version on the discussion tab of the release, sort of like how the Hirochi Prasu did it with it's real versions of things.
Avenger is already in use by Dodge. However, I do like the sound of an Italian inspired name as an option. Though Vendetta is winning by a longshot, so it looks like that one will be the repo name. Adding names now to the poll won't help any. True, I don't need repo, but; Like he said, it'd get lost in the forums, as for kids these days, ahem I mean forum users, don't really know to check the forums for a good mod. I remember checking these forums daily for mod projects before the repo and BeamNGs E.U.L.A., but most people don't do that anymore. The car is a bit different from a real corvette anyway, and will have some of its own styling characteristics. It won't be as unique as some of the other dev cars, just because you can't do very much to the corvettes design without completely wrecking it. If this thread is only going to be a daycare for you kids, I am going to have a moderator lock it. Grow up, and act like you're old enough to use the forums. I don't have to share this mods development here. Suggestions are welcome; asking about a Christmas avatar and fighting with each other is not, along with other things.
Well to calm crap down in here, I figure I should say a few things I had in mind about the design. I decided to take a closer look at the 1964 Pontiac Banshee concept car, and I think I can easily pull some elements from it and put them on this car. I am thinking I may use its popup headlight design, a grille insert based around the nose of the Banshee, exposed windshield wipers, and other small things. I then could run the fictional model years from 1964 through to 1972, making only minor trim changes marking model year differences. While I am not changing the general shape, and will be including more corvette styled trimmings, and front bumper/ grille assembly for earlier models, I can still add in and change different trim elements. I can also mis match design features from later c3 corvettes. The blue collar was roughly meant to resemble a 1955-1956 Chevrolet task force truck, though I gave it a custom grille insert, fully custom and original badges, and a few other small things here and there. So that is what I am going to be doing here.
