It's gotta be this. West Coast stutters a fair bit and drops under 60FPS frequently even on my G752VS OC Edition. CPU usage is never over 30% and GPU is never over 60%. The game is on an NVMe SSD and I have 32GB of RAM so performance is not the issue. It's just too complex for the engine in its current state.
Lets put our assumptions aside why its so hard to implement it or why it should work because of reasons. What we know is: The replay function uses some tech which is essential for the multiplayer and it works. So far so good. Multiplayer has no priority whatsoever before the singleplayer part of the game is done. Game is still in alpha, so no priorityshift anytime soon. Devs dont want half assed multiplayer with ghostvehicle or other hacky solutions. Just wait and with some luck we'll get multiplayer someday.
So Rigs Of rods did it and it does got real with that GHOST variant. How did they make it? Just a Informative Question EDIT: i did know that ive done a thread to this before. I hat the idea to create a option for Multiple Monitor users. So one ENGINE and 2 - 3 Windows for each Monitor. Each Monitor one Controller.
This. Or do splitscreen for those with only one monitor. The game already has multiseat so how hard could it be? I know it's not a priority, but it seems pretty easy to implement. Correct me if I'm wrong
I mean, I call that Desync, but I may be talking about the wrong thing. https://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ#Is_split_screen_mode_planned.3F Pretty much, I don't think it'll be as difficult as full-on online mode, but It will take a lot more time and effort to get working. Then again, they recently got Orbit Camera to work with Multiseat, so I bet that's some step in the right direction.
How about a way where there's split screen (run on a single computer with 2 different vehicles and cameras) which can be streamed out to the secondary person. The game would render in realtime, but the one who's away from the primary pc (being streamed to) will have a small amount of latency. This is one way to fix the limitations of the engine. There could also be a disclaimer that ping of under 10ms is recommended and that anything above could result in bad input delay. Beamng multiplayer could possible be limited to nearby friends (friends within the same neighborhood) which would allow for very low pings. (this is just a suggestion/idea. I'm not begging the Dev's for multiplayer as I know how hard it is to code games, and how hard it would be with the engine they use. P.S: A small amount of input lag can cause more commonly loss of control of vehicles (I've only got an i3 cpu so I experience this a little) but it's still controllable.
To reply again to this thread. by reading this Thread and every else MP thread, everyone can see how important that feature is for Much Players and how they are making thoughts about it like 'how would it be possible', 'what would we do', 'to what would we be able'. And of course the DEV's do know how we all would LOVE this function, to quote B. Tanner here i am sure that we get something that we can call a Multiplayer, but when and how it would look like cant we know today. @Nadeox1. And because its a Huge MUST HAVE for alot of people It would be much better if we all put our thoughts about Multiplayer in one sticky thread, so no one is again asking why its not done yet and stuff by creating a new thread, they could read it itself in the sticky thread which is filled with askings and answers by the community itself.
That's not a solution. Please explain how this is a solution. --- Post updated --- Of course, in reality, a ping under 10ms means you may as well just be sitting right next to each other.
Typically, this ping is achievable easily, if you live within a 10 mile radius, and the host has good internet, as well as the secondary user
Another member and I played BeamNG MultiSeat on different computers.. possibly even in different countries through Nvidia share. All you need is a GTX card thats good enough.
What's funny is that in the original post he gives every reason why this post is useless and can't happen, the precedes to tell you it anyway.
