I've got some ideas I thought I'd drop down Performance Timer App Improvements This has already been mentioned before, but I thought I'd expand upon it with my own ideas. In it's current state, I personally don't find the performance timer very useful. Because it is automatic, it doesn't really work for things like 0-60, since you can't launch by modulating the throttle. To improve the functionality, I suggest a "manual" mode, where you can pick a counter/timer (or multiple), and then click an "arm" button. Say you picked a 0-60 timer, once armed, the system will wait until you are stationary, and as soon as you start moving again, the timer will start, and it won't stop until you reach 60mph, regardless of throttle position. I think this will make the app much more usable. In addition, I think there are some more tests that could be added to the app: 0-60 mph - currently the game counts to 62mph, which I believe is 100kph 0-100 mph Top speed - Read the speed of the vehicle as it increases, but stop at the highest speed achieved if the speed decreases, and hold the number on display until the user resets it 1/4 mile E.T - Start the timer as soon as the vehicle begins moving, and stop the timer when the vehicle has covered 1/4 of a mile. If possible, it would also be useful to link this to the tree at existing drag strips, so that as soon as the lights turn green, the timer starts, and then stops when you hit the end gate. It would also be cool if there were info boards for both lanes that then display your ET and MPH when you hit the end gate. Analogue UI Gauges and Shift Light This doesn't really add any functionality, but I think it would be cool if we had the option of analogue gauges with needles etc. for the UI. I would love to be able to replace my boost gauge with an analogue gauge, and have separate tachometers and speedometers in a classic style analogue form. To add to this, you could also create a shift light app that could light up either when you hit the red line, or when you reach a specified RPM. Vehicle Ideas If I have everything my way, most of the cars in this game would be Japanese sports cars from the 80's to the 2000s. But for more variety, I think it would be pretty cool to add: A modern hatchback - There was talk of a 2014 Ibishu Covet a while back, though it seems to have disappeared from the official content list on the wiki A modern supercar - We have a classic - the Bolide, now how about more modern? I think it would be awesome to see how the two compare and contrast A modern muscle car - Similar idea to the modern super car, would be interesting to compare the two Open wheeled racer - something like a go-kart or an older F1 car, or maybe a formula trainer car. And ofcourse, I wouldn't mind more Japanese inspired sports cars Drag Racing Features Drag racing is quite popular among the BeamNG community, so I think these features would be much appreciated by many. Anti-lag - There have been a couple of posts asking for this before, but I think they were confusing anti-lag with afterfire, since they wanted the flames out the exhaust. What I'm asking for is actual functioning anti-lag that reduces turbo lag (and more flames would be cool, too ). Not only would this help those big turbo drag cars, it would also be quite fitting for some of the rally and hill-climb cars already in the game Launch Control - The automatic drag cars have trans brakes, so why not give the manual cars launch control? I think this too would fit well with the rally/hill-climb cars Drag Parachutes - It's all well and good doing a blazing 1/4 mile, but what about stopping at the end? That's all I have for now
Its better to make a thread for every suggestion, and there's the vehicle suggestion thread for the vehicles. Last i heard a modern Covet was in the making, but not confirmed. There's also a 0-60 timer app and a 1/4 mile app in the mod section.
Why make a separate post for each? Wouldn't that just cause clutter? Also, the existence of a mod doesn't mean a function shouldn't be added to the game. In fact, in many games, features are added using mods as inspiration. Sure, you could download the a mod. But wouldn't you rather have it in the game as default, made to a higher standard of quality?
Yes i would, but we got what we got. The reason why its better to have separate suggestions is so that each can be taken individually
If I were a dev or a forum mod, I'd rather have it all organised into one post, and give my thoughts in one reply. I'll leave it like this for now, but if the devs want it split up, then I'll do so. I just didn't want to spam the forum.
that's the point of the vehicle suggestions. But because many people post there the newcomers assume that its a containment thread (which it kinda is) and noone, nor dev nor modder checks it (which is not true) And we end up with many suggestions to incluide something like real life super exotic hypercars from people with no profile pic that just registered making their first post. Sometimes even in russian!
I see where you're coming from. Since I was already posting a thread for my other ideas, I thought I might as well include them on here.
