Are you using an unmodified vehicle? And if so, is it a default map? Some vehicles that were made by the community or modified have weird bugs that cause them to freak out such as overlapping nodes. If it is a default vehicle, but a community made map, see if you get the same problem on maps that came with BeamNG by default. Sometimes collision meshes on community maps aren't as they should be, causing all sorts of fun things like demolishing your car, sending it into the atmosphere, causing it to clip though the ground, ect. To start the game again once you respawn your vehicle, push "j". Debug mode pauses the physics so the game can "catch up" I think.... Either way "j" is the physics toggle, and pushing it should remedy your floating car issue.

ok i will have to try that as for the map/car in this case i was using a community map but it happens on other dev made apps
ok so pressing j just drops the car down than it freezes the game than the car disappears than the game crashes. any other suggestions?

maybe i could turn this into a back to the future mod!:D

I'd just wipe the game and start over with a clean install and see if the problem persists.

If that's with no mods installed at all, I really don't know what to tell you... :/ hm. Run the updater? I really can't think of what it could be if its a vanilla install with dev vehicles and maps.

This has happened to me a few times, You just need to pause the physics (J) and then reset the vehicle (R) then un-pause the physics (P) and the car should reappear.

gabester has posted to one thread that the cause of this is the physics engine crashing because of instability
