framerate suddenly dropped

my pc was running beamng a-ok last night as it had been usually, and i just opened it and started playing. the framerate has considerably dropped and it seems no matter what mods i get rid of or how i adjust the settings it wont go away. what do i need to do?

 

I've experience something like this a few times. Does it still drop when you restart the game?

Did you update your PC recently?

I've been hearing that a broken windows update has been slowing down a lot of computers. Maybe it's a Windows update that's to blame?

Has performance gone down in any other games?

 

This happens to a friend of mine, so it seems a bit common. I have no clue though.

 

Open your task manager, click on the performance tab, and run your game to see what is using resources. Mine I have to wait a solid 5 minutes after I start my computer otherwise everything will run like garbage because my hard drive is pegged at 100% usage... why I have no idea but its been driving me insane for the better part of 4 months. I also have no idea how to fix it either.
