Winter mod problem

So, I keep having problems not allowing me to use the official winter mod. I tried following other relevant threads, but nothing seemed to work.

So far, I have tried changing directories, each time with a fresh download of the game files from HB, deactivating all other mods, clearing cache and downloading - deleting - redownlading the mod outside the game.

I must be missing something, or, perhaps, the version in HB isn't the current one. v0.11.0.2.5160. I can't find the current version number anywhere here in the website, so I don't know if HB has the most recent one uploaded.

The problems specifically upon starting every time the game, the mod is automatically deactivated and I do not see any changes after activating it, apart from the loading menus' background images changing after I enter a map. Also, after activating it, when I try to go back from a map to the main menu, the screen goes blank after the loading finishes, though the application itself isn't crashed or non-responsive.
