We have a few different terrains at various stages of completion now (the next big one after DRI is shaping up nicely by the way :) ), Industrial is a small one at only one square kilometer but has some interesting areas. Currently it has a [mostly complete] port and a rallycross track with one more top secret area under construction. Being so small and with compact areas it offers great performance and makes it fast to travel. The track is a nice mixture of dirt and asphalt with some undulations in the road to keep things interesting.

It also has the possibility for different setups.

Connecting the rallycross track to the port is a poorly maintained road with a deadly left hand turn at one end that still gets me now; it really needs a warning sign :)

The port itself is a maze of junk left rusting by the sea. There are plenty of opportunities for small tracks between the containers and overgrown warehouses which can turn nasty if you misjudge a turn and end up in a heap of scrap. This makes it very satisfying when you get it right though.

And a picture of the garage area at the track.

This is amazing LJFHutch! I can imagine going 60 mph on that turn, hitting the pothole, and flipping 5 times:cool:

Absolutely amazing work. If you haven't already done so, it might be fun if some of the deeper potholes are modeled in 3d? Would be great if you'd be doing 60mph, suddenly the front wheel hits a pothole and half the suspension breaks and gets stuck in the wheelwell. Then you'd have to actually watch the road surface, just like in real life(Or at least, here in the Netherlands after winter there can be some seriously dangerous potholes near intersections!)

Most of them are represented in the heightmap, but the heightmap isn't very high res (Torque3D limitation :() so it's not as good as it could be. We could theoretically have meshes that sit on top of the heightmap to make more detailed potholes.

This looks seriously amazing. I love the road texture. Is that actually reflection or is it dynamic? Either way, very cool. :)

Absolutely stunning job! The detail on the roads is just fantastic, I like the big holes on the damaged road.

That background is lovely, coupled with the roads in an appaling state it reminds me of the English Countryside somewhat. I can't wait to throw a car about down that track ;)

I love the picture with the truck mid-jump. How did you get the truck there and take a screenshot at the same time?

Beautiful work! I can already imagine some epic races with sunbursts or barstows on that rallycross track.:D Will there be barriers and tirewalls and whatnot around the track to make it a bit more challenging? To actually encourage players not to cut corners too much for example.

Question, is all of that junk simply a collection of static objects? or will there be physics that allow us to knock over some of the itemss? Bearing in mind that not all vehicles in the game will be lightweight, a truck hitting some of those objects shouldn't result in the truck bouncing off it. A dockside container isn't that immovable either. Even if we can't move the containers, like the massive stack of them, creating a very simple node/beam structure that represents the walls of the bottom ones so a crash will dent them would just be that extra attention to detail.

I don't know, are you planning much environmental destruction?

you guys really need to make a new video showcasing crashing the newer cars on the new maps and call it [h=1]"Revolutionary soft-body physics in TORQUE3D"[/h]because everyone outside of this forum still thinks this is based on cryengine

    Cool map too, lol.

Currently they're static though it could be possible in theory at least to make them NB objects. Most of it is big heavy bits of metal and wood though so in a fight between it and anything short of a tank the junk would win anyway :D

They kind of made a video called "BeamNG and Torque3D".

I was just wondering, will there be a new video any time soon? I really want to see the new wheel and tires, aswell as the hubcaps :D ,this map too!

Yeah, the first one had "Revolutionary" "Soft Body" "Physics Engine" "CryEngine" so people clicked it :p
