    If common core was a person, it would be that one dude who likes to over complicate things, then try to seem smart.

    My opinion on it is that the math class is terrible, as it has useless things that nobody is going to apply to the real world most of the time.

    Unless you plan on studying arts or literature, you likely will use maths, and not just the simple everyday stuff either. Most of what you're studying now will probably come in handy later if you decide to study anything in the field of economy, engineering, science, etc.

    OT:
    Pretty much any maths problem is subject to a plethora of different methods of resolution. It's absolutely unthinkable to make children use just a single method for an operation that likely has hundreds of different ways to be resolved. If you ask a child what 10+10 is, 20 is the right answer, no matter what calculations the child used to arrive at such a number.

    Same goes for literature, but to an even greater extent, as most things written are subject to a million different interpretations. To say that one specific subjective view is the correct one would be nothing short of ridiculous.
