You are indeed right, but I did say in my post! Anyway, here's a pic just to confirm I do actually have it!

I had taken those pictures before I had received my GPU but I thankfully now have this one installed!

Beautiful system, you can see the case is nothing fancy but you did a great job with the water cooling nonetheless.
Although it's weird for someone with that cooling capacity on their system not OCing the CPU. The i5-2500k can easily hit 4.8GHz on that system (if it's a normal chip and you don't leave in the desert) :)

actually, thats not a bad build at all, if you really need more performance, its probably in your graphics section, so just get a decent PSU (because no silver power is going to last very long) and upgrade the gpu (although you should NOT, have to, as a HD 7870 should be fine for most games, as should your cpu, and ram be)

I went with the biggest rad I could since my case could easily fit it with no problem. I've had the case for like 7 years or something now and really like it and didn't want to get rid of it and spend more money on a new one so I made this one work lol. I got such good cooling with the intention of OCing since I went with the K series chip. It's just that every time I try anything over 4GHz I get some kind of instability and I just never feel like tinkering with it lol. I've even plugged in settings from people with pretty much exact systems for around 4.5GHz and I always have some problems so I kinda gave up. Thanks for the comments though!

Im running a GTX 580 on a 450 watt psu with some Chinese writings on it, I think 500 watt should be good enough for pretty much everything unless going sli/crossover, or R9 290x lol
According to hwcompare a GTX580 only uses like 6 watts less than an 780ti, however if that's true in reality, I don't know. And my psu might be underrated too, you never know with the Chinese stuff.

Don't use other people's settings, use an i5-2500k OC guide, there are plenty pretty good ones out there since it was (and still is) a very popular chip.
I can almost guarantee you a 4.5GHz OC out of that and I would bet you got a 50% change of a 4.8GHz one working and a 10-25% chance a 5.0GHz also working!

im not talking about watt's, im talking about brands, and quality, no name brands (such as silver power) generally don't last long, and most of the time, when put under load, just fail, and fry your pc, which is why its best to use a name brand, such as corsair, SeaSonic, XFX, or Antec (not sure on this one, but ik that its a seasonic rebrand, so it should be about the same quality)

I've been gone too long. I've updated my computer since my last post.

The only change was upgrading to a single GTX 660. Other than that, I upgraded windows 7 to 10, but want 7 back. I'll get a SSD for that since the bootup time for that is really fast. However, if we're going into further detail and external information, allow me to give the whole list.

1050Watt power supply, ASUS M5A99FX ProR2.0 motherboard. AMD FX 8350 8 core at 4Ghz (the bios have 3 performance options, I went with mid range performance), 32Gb G.Skill Ripjaw X series RAM, GTX 660, 1Tb internal C drive with Windows 10, 2Tb internal backup drive (I use this as temporary storage for random junk files), 2Tb external drive through USB3.0, 39" SEIKI LEDTV, and 23" HannSpree 10 point touch screen monitor.

Once I have a 2nd desktop, I will use the monitor for it and use Windows 7 on it. It'll be mostly for documentation and light features.

Its definitely not the most powerful in the world that would be Tianhe-2 in China

my computer is probably one of the most powerful single socket computers on the forum the dual socket Xeons are more powerful than mine I know that...
