I hope but have them limited in options per forum channel thats what needs to be done here, its what I would do in your situation

What exactly do you mean by "differently"?

Such as different format? Different types?

hey, I know one gamedev that has a basic upvote/downvote system with people limited to 1 of each rating per day.... just a thought, can provide links/images if needed

When we tried to test-drive things the forum went nuts, we'll need to plan out better next time. We don't know yet

Yes, we should do some more research of how others are solving this - thanks! :)

Thank you so much for taking time out of your break to implement these changes to improve the forum/community!

Would it be possible to implement a way to "unwatch" a profile post to stop receiving alerts every time someone replies to it?

it's because you (nadeox/whatever other mysterious moderators occasionally appear) never (very often) explain or communicate anything. I'm quite sure we both know what I'm talking about when a member was recently removed for certain activities. one simple post explaining any extenuating circumstances could have saved over a day of complaining instead of deleting everything and saying nothing. if an apparently big-name member is punished for a seemingly harmless act/reason you should expect blowback, and grudges. and that is not the only time it has ever happened.

Agreed. The line in the signature is too vague.

We need a simple like/agree system with a daily quota that depends on either how long a user has been a registered member, or how many posts they have. I know a few other forums that use such a system, and it works well for them.

It would need a limit though, even for VERY old members. Trust me, shitposters will go to extremes.

That is delicate, most of the times, it involves personal information of others, personal attacks, long histories of misbehavior, etc. A thread with "he gone bad" won't help i think.

Please keep in mind, that nadeox was answering around 100 emails a day and looking after this and the steam forums :/

That would kill any incentive for a lurker to rate posts. We don't need any more reasons to encourage shitposting.

Limiting likes and agrees just seems like a bad idea, especially if it just happens to be a day when a lot of good mods are released

Why not just say "personal attacks against a member". That's a lot more specific than "Being rude", and explains the situation a lot better? And why not post said text as a status, so when someone goes to their profile, that's the first thing they see?

I'm just saying, that's why. You can have your reasons, these are mine, and as the case may be, others.

We can have some copy and paste templates, sure. If that helps is a different question.
