Thank you for this mod! I'm quite sure that I'll be having a whole load of fun trying to wrangle that troublesome rear end around while rallying around the mountain trails of JRI, and it's also great to see an Eastern Bloc car among all of these American and Japanese cars (and an RR one, as well). EDIT #2: I was being a dumb and not realizing that I was measuring output from the wrong source (torque curve app instead of engine dyno/engine debug apps), my bad. I'll try to do a comparison test between this, the Bolide, and the Pigeon sometime soon (or whenever I can).
If you open the engine dynamometer app the horsepower is displayed correctly. Also this car will never handle right with the current tire physics. It's unable to perform even the most basic manouvers without being overly twitchy. In reality it should be fairly lazy to do anything exciting.
Oh, okay...makes sense. Must be that the torquecurve app is measuring power from the engine, while Skoda measured power from the wheels (which allows for quite a bit of difference in power). I'll edit my post whenever I can with an assessment of its handling compared to the Bolide and Pigeon.
Awesome mod. The car looks so good and the rear engine layout makes fast cornering a real challenge. This is one of the best car mods here. I found couple of flaws, though. 1. It is much stronger than real Skoda in 50 km/h moderate overlap frontal crash test according to this video: and this screenshot after similar crash: Also some suspension and body beams deform really easily, even when driving over a small pothole. There are at least 30 deformed beams after driving over the rumble strips on the Gridmap. The beam deformation debug shows only couple of them. 2. The engine is way too powerful. The torque curve app shows 87 hp and 115 Nm net at flywheel, while the real Skoda 130 has only 58 hp and 98 Nm DIN at flywheel. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 16.8 sec and top speed of 146 km/h in this Skoda Rapid 130 Cabriolet road test from 1985 Motor magazine support those figures. I found also the Skoda 130 Sport feature test from 1987 Motor magazine. The Sport with 75 hp engine is much faster than the base 130. 3. The Skoda is much heavier than real 130. The 130GL weighs almost 1100 kg, while the real 130 weighs only 880 kg.
