I made a stupid point (like in all my posts i think), because i like drag racing over drifting by a lot.

    slight drift/powerslide up to 100mph...
    then aero and grip. :D

totally drifting for fun, showing off and specific situations in AWDs...

Even Initial D makes gripping a big deal...
As tyre wear may decide showdowns ;)

    a.k.a

Having no talent and driving in a line which any Japanese sports car can just do on the highway
    vs
actually having enough talent to control a car sliding around the corner while also holding the slide.

    Drifting
I'd say it's more of a professional term, considering the "amateurs" can't even get a clean drift. Also, originated in Japanese
    Grip
Pretty much the "savior" for tires, nuff' said. Also one of the most major parts of racing in America.

By appearance, but feels completely different. It's like comparing a turbocharged 1985 Honda Civic Wagon Japan-spec to the stock Japan-spec. It's still looks like it, but feels both different because of speed, or even how it handles.

Personally I like grip in a rwd/fwd car (when racing, if you're just having fun go for it) then in an AWD car you can do a mad powerslide around the corner, which is faster than grip in that case.
