Hello! 2-3 days ago, I have thought about other games like SLR:R, AC, GTA V etc. & them having car mods (mainly) from other games like the Forza series. Usually these games don't have a detailed collision/physics model, so making a car for them is relatively easy, because you just need the model & some knowledge just to make them drive proper-ish. After all that, I had thought about BeamNG & that it could use some real cars...

Yes, I have seen attempts to do that on the forum (usually they were older threads), but the people that were working on them gave up at 3/4 of work & then just left the mod there without even trying to finish it. I do know that it is hard to make a car for BeamNG so it drives/deforms/behaves correctly under certain circumstances, since it requires quite some fine tuning in the jbeam files, but knowing that some people here are great modders, they could share their knowledge with less "talented" people, that would want to try attempting to port over a car to BeamNG. Another thing is also having the permission from the other car authors, since without them, the car on here would be taken down sooner or later for breaking the forum rules. To add to that, there can't be any vehicles on the repo that have real-life badges on them (so like Nissan, Subaru, Dodge, Audi etc.), so that complicates certain elements of the car development for BeamNG (the best example for that is the Hirochi Prasu, which just had the badges changed to ingame ones & then it was "clean" for the repo (love you @crashmaster #nohomo)). In my opinion, if a game has fake car brands, then it should stay that way, since seeing a real-life car in it would break the immersion in driving the car + it probably would not always behave like the real counterpart. So, because of that, I feel like people that would attempt porting cars over from other games to here, should spend a few moments on making the car be BeamNG'ified, so it would be unique yet still remind people of the real one.

I know this sounds more like my random thoughts on the whole "situation", but seeing how little different cars we have in the game (other than some variants of the already existing ingame cars) is making me a bit sad, since BeamNG has SUCH a big potential of being a very good car game, if it only had more cars in it...

I do realise, that making a car behave correctly in BeamNG takes a whole load of time, since the game engine is so realistic, but no one says that the car has to be perfect from day 1 till it "dies" from being forgotten etc.

I hope you'll understand the message in this post, but I would really love to see some more cars other than variations of the current ingame cars :)

I don't like real cars being turned into fictional cars but for repo release, that's fine. Sorta like how the toyota badge was an optional forum download.

I would just change the badges, but I don't like the fact that either it would be named after a beamng brand, or a weird made up name
