Hello guys apologies for the delay of the progress, I've been busy with Senior High. There's not much progress here, I've finished unwrapping the uv's and they're all ready to be textured but i'm very busy and possibly I have no time. If anyone is willing to texture the car to make it like dev quality and make an N/B for this please let me know, I'd be very happy and your help will be very appreciated. I don't want this project abandoned, leaving you guys disappointed. Looks neat, maybe I could make one on a different version
This looks really nice. I wouldn't have been able to tell it was fictional have you not mentioned that yourself.
Thanks! school will end in March and since we are grade 12 graduating students, we are bombarded with projects Our exams will start next week I really do hope there is Thank you! Some said it's based on a Tucker or a classic ford but I didn't used any references of existing cars, it was all freehand.
Had spare time today so iv'e textured the car. I'm currently learning on Paint.net to add further details and refinement.
Just noticed something... Shouldn't parts like fenders, lights etc. (that are in pairs) be separate models? So when they're crashed, they don't deform like total crap?
Are they supposed to be 2 separate meshes? I used the mirror modifier to make the other side of the fender, and the lights are embedded in the fenders. Most of the car's body panels are mirrored that's why in UV's there is only half of the car's parts shown
On this pic here you have the fenders selected but they are called "Front Fenders" instead of Front Fender L(eft) & Front Fender R(ight). The same should be with other stuff like that
Like I said i'm using a mirror modifier to mirror the fender from the other side. Without the mirror modifier it's just one single fender.
You can Clone and seperate Meshes in Blender. Theres not that big of a problem in of doing all of that
Select faces that you want to be new part and press P twice, that way you can separate everything after mesh is completely done. Sometimes it's hard to separate whole part at once, then you can separate twice so you have two parts, select those two parts and press control - J to join those two parts back together. If you apply mirror modifier, then two halves become one part, sometimes applying mirror modifier and parting after that is easier, sometimes just removing mirror modifer and duplicating part, then adjusting position. Whatever works for your workflow.
Thanks for the feedbacks, I'm aware of duplicating and separating meshes, I used it before during my old car modeling days before I discovered the mirror modifier. I often use the mirror modifier on some parts of every vehicle I craft to save time and less work especially when its unwrapping. I'm a bit curious if using mirror modifiers will affect the deformation of the car? If so I'll make duplicates and re-unwrap them all over again.
