Today we are going to talk about facelifts that made some cars more beautiful. Rules: no spamming pictures of pre-facelift and facelift (old and new generation) versions are obligatory for each car you mention (at least 2) (Inspired by CarThrottle video) So, let's go: BMW 3-Series E46
I think honestly the E46 and E39 were downgraded in their facelifts. Something about the wider kidney grilles on the E46 looks off to me. As for a facelift I like, the B8 Audi A/S4 to the B8.5.
1. It's a generation change, not facelift 2. The car looked smaller than it is, almost like a compact and now it looks big, fat and heavy. Visibility from inside seems to have receded as well. (Let alone the fact that older car had 3.5 V6 as the smallest engine and the new one has an engine choice fit for a 20 year old EUDM Kia)
I think those two cars got better after a facelift (or two): VW Beetle from 2000 (left) and the 2016 version (right): And the FIAT Panda from 1999 to 2006 and finally to 2016. It got better imo.
Ruined it for me. And pretty much everyone I know. New headlights are too long, could have worked MUCH better with some intake inbetween, like they did with the 156 and the GT.
I have to agree you, even that I own pre-facelift 166. (I still like it) Edit: From this angle, I like original more: Spoiler // E90; small change, big difference. --- Post updated --- Audi A6 C7 New headlights and little things made it so much better. --- Post updated --- Alfa Romeo 164. I like the original, but facelift works
