That is really scary and dangerous, that bully must have done a right psychological number on that girl the previous year and gotten away with it....thats messed up as well....

 

And whats even scarier is my Auntys friend lived in the same area as this chick and heard the girls mother screaming when she found her daughter dead. Truly horrible and sad. Feel sorry for her family and close friends. If someone sent a message that toxic to me I would put it everywhere and let people know how horrible this person was.

For that last bit, it varies. Some people can get it from poor household environments, while others just simply do not care, and who knows how many other reasons for it exists.

 

It depends on the issue. Troll accounts and spam threads can't be stopped before they happen unless you make it so messages need to be reviewed first.

However, in the case of the community screenshots argument from a few nights ago, there were some signs that this could happen. For example, people had been making comments on the quality of the mod since the person started it and there were clearly people already taking sides from the beginning. Without placing blame on anyone, both sides of the fight were responsible for how it escalated, whether it was refusal to listen to more experienced modders or being harsh with criticism.

I wouldn't call what happened bullying - it was a large difference of opinions that got taken too personally. There weren't any personal insults from what I can recall, but there was some mean criticism of the mod that I'm sure was misunderstood as a personal attack.

 

The worst bullies are the ones that bully you psychologically.

 

Yeah someone I knew actually saw the messages because this anti bullying advocate came to her school and talked to students. She saw the messages. From what I heard, they sounded foul. I won't go on about it anymore as I don't want to annoy the admins but just know, that if you're bullied, you're not alone. Talk to someone about it and get support.

 

I know what thats like I talked to a friend of mine and somehow her left arm got snapped in two and she killed herself and a day later her ex wife screamed at me and said I did it but I had nothing to do with it, she must have upset someone seriously enough and I talked to her months later and found out the brother had said to her to do that to me because he was a real psycho along with his sister....the last thing I heard about them was they are both pushing up daisies now and their father is a changed man....

 

As far as the recent forum changes go, I like the new icons, and organization. It looks more professional and is much cleaner. The newly subset of reactions is nice as well, and looks like it will prevent random reaction spam that used to happen. (e.g. "FUNNY" on posts that were quite the contrary)

Although I do agree it'd still be nice to have profile posts.

 

I should know people did it to me at school I didnt bring it up with them and well a few years ago I was psychologically bullied by some idiot in Australia and well about 3 years after that I had my revenge on the person I gave them a new life and Identity and they are happily married with kids and a family and a job now, that event made me a harder less foolish person, I am not that easily fooled I have a hard edge because of it and it makes me a bit unpredictable, I let that happen to me once in 2015 and believe me....never again....I will never let the anger control me again, all I did was talk to a friend and told her how angry I was with her and her weak exucses for saying she forgot about me, I had been informed months before she was manipulated all her life and I gave her a severe telling off and that night she killed herself and I have to live with the memory of what happened that was not linked to me in any way...its oddly something I regret not spotting the fact there was another person in the room with her and she said "Whos that with glowing eyes" and thats when I went to bed....

 

So the profile posts are not coming back, but maybe we could make a status at least?

 

Yeah a status would be nice to have, but it wont happen =\

 

This thread right now is getting a little off topic I think. I find it both good and bad that profile posts are gone, but hey, they're gone, it's permanent, move on. I don't think any more discussion on profile posts is needed.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I'd at least settle for that.

 

Still say'd that's too far, how about you have a little topic page on your own profile where people can ask questions and other things like that.
It'd be restricted to members who've been here for more than a month though, because of spammers, ivan lochcov and other things.

 

Is the featured resource broken? I thought you added new high-profile mods to that?

Overall, I like the changes. Only thing I don't like/what hasn't changed is the amount of "stupid" one word/one line comments by a group of users.
