Thank you, will fix; Must've missed that. --- Post updated --- Also guys, I apologize if it looks like that I released the mod way too early, I may have; Please, hang in there, it'll improve, I just need feedback for most of it. I would rather share what I have that's "Good enough but not great", instead of letting the mod die off completely whilst I'm away. Everyone who has contributed so far, I appreciate it; I will credit you for testing when I get the chance. Well guys, I'm outta time Sorry it ain't perfect, but it's about as good as I can get it before I pack up. Expect improvements to come once I am back on constantly in about a month or 2; I can definitely clean this baby up when I am settled again, and that should improve the overall mod experience. I am trusting @atv_123 to help me maintain the mod in the meantime, manage and squash bugs, and help keep the mod alive through the 0.11 to 0.12 transition, which is expected to occur while I'm still moving. Camera offset is fixed in a pending hotfix, the moderators just have to approve it at some point, sooner hopefully rather than later. I have included the replacement .jbeam file in the OP for the time being so you guys can get that taken care of for the time being. Please, keep posting feedback; I will forward it to him so we can discuss it and keep the mod moving on its own. 0.76.1 should be up whenever the moderators are reviewing mods again. Idk when that will be, but for now, just use the file I added to the OP.
Hi there! Awesome mod! Concerning the vibrations during hard launches (i.e. clutch dump from a standstill), I think that could be solved by adjusting the strength of the axles and the surrounding components around the differential. Just by looking at the way everything flexes in slo-mo during a launch, the axles deform a lot and the differential can move a lot which I think is why the vibrations are caused. Other than that, fantastic mod!
I feel like even with this being in a alpha like state the model over all is great and the j-beam still is better then others that were "complete". I do say that really bugs me would be the camera because I feel like I am very ocd at times, otherwise I can get around those other problems seeing what stage this is in.
IMO this is a really good mod. Yes, there are some bugs but the car drives really good and deformations are not so bad either. Its certainly good enough to keep me entertained till you get back! --- Post updated --- One more thing that I noticed during this run; I was driving the car on the "jump course" scenario that is included in the game. At the finish line, it seemed like the suspension was not damaged in any way. I have seen the ride height drop for other cars after a few jumps and I think it should for the Vendetta as well. --- Post updated --- One more thing that I noticed during this run; I was driving the car on the "jump course" scenario that is included in the game. At the finish line, it seemed like the suspension was not damaged in any way. I have seen the ride height drop for other cars after a few jumps. I Someone posted a fix some pages back for the camera. It involves editing a text file. Its post #709 on page 36. IDK how to hyperlink a reply
Deformation is 50/50. Some like it, others loathe it. I discovered today before I packed up my desktop (I'm on my MacBook right now,) that I'll need to remake the entire body JBeam; There are some spots where deformation is absolute crap, and the mesh breakage is covering it up (Not good, and I don't call this acceptable.) Had @Gavril T85 never pointed me out on the rear deformation, I may have never discovered this issue. I have asked atv_123 to help me while I'm away to rebuild it, though he may or may not be willing to do this. This is ok, he's also got a life to live, and other mods to work on besides mine. My goal is to change this from a solid model, to an object that's split up and can break apart at the seams, instead of breaking apart everywhere all at once. This, is more realistic IMO, and will look good in crash montages if I can do it right; I.E tons of parts flying around when in a hard impact. Not exactly the most realistic, however it's still in that realm of realism, and also makes for good screen time. As for suspension damage; I am aware that it's too strong; I had to set deformation values like this so the car could remain drivable under typical usage scenarios and racing scenarios. All I have to do is raise or lower the values for beamDeform in order to make it deform, but I want to do this when I am certain every single quirk in the suspension's ironed out. Thank you for your feedback, happy to hear you're enjoying the mod Also, to reiterate; There is a file attached in the O.P of this thread; To those who want to fix the offset camera, Download and replace that file in the actual mod, and your camera should be set in the center. Again, I deeply apologize for this silly mistake, I didn't realize it was wrong and needed to be fixed. Version 0.76.1, when approved by moderation, will include the fix officially. When this version comes out, remove all unpacked versions of this mod before installing the new version or updating it.
Weird looking > no breakage, though I may be able to fix premature breakage; See, that's all dependent upon the balance between beamDeform and beamStrength. If the part can crumble before the mesh disappears, that helps improve the effect. You pay a price for using mesh breakage, it comes at a lack of control of breakage, at-least without strategizing it heavily. @FLyInG 2 YoUr SoUL rigs the effect with set areas of the JBeam that can break and swing around. IMO this wasn't going to work very well with the Vendetta. The front seemed to handle it far better than everything else, probably because of how its built, and again, because of the balance between beamStrengh and beamDeform. That being said, I'm looking into having atv_123 redo the entire rear body JBeam so that each likely* separate section of fiberglass can split apart at the seams, aswell as break on its own; This should in theory make the visuals look better, because the JBeam will be more suited for the task at hand. Either way, I'm redoing that area in the back, because I discovered the breakage was covering up some nasty spiking induced by my limited choice of beam placement at the start. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it
My only complaints at the moment are about how disorganized the vehicle selector for it is and also about its lack of a horn. Otherwise, it's brilliant.
Damn it! I missed the release! Good thing some bars in Cozumel has some decent internet here. Otherwise the cruise internet sucks...
Horn should be in hotfix version 0.76.1. It was just a line of JBeam code I forgot to add. I am also investigating adding N20 support, but Idk how to add it properly and still pass mod inspection. Also, how do I organize the vehicle selector to show the confide how I want them to? I know this is a dumb question, but I really don’t like working with configurations, so I don’t know
That's not OCD, it's perfectionism ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Can't wait till this thing becomes fully ready
It's missing the engine mounts... I guess it's holding on with the power of Driv3r's imagination Also, will we get the option to choose different steering wheels?
