I have had windows 10 from jan 13 2018 and then i got a bad update and we took it to are computer guy and he had to reinstall windows and because my computer was there we decidid to get an m.2 ssd 500gb so computer guy made a image of my windows and put on the ssd and then when I got the computer home and it was up and running window said my this I computer guy went is to reg eidit type the code to make the windows key come back and it did not so now my windows is invalid PLEASE HLEP!!! --- Post updated --- PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it wasn't an OEM key you can simply contact Microsoft, I believe. I have lived off of no key for a year and a half, so can't help much.
I think the Windows 10 key has saved info on what PC components you're running at the moment of activating it & whenever you add/change something in that configuration, it will "break" thus saying the thing it does for you

fist off why did u let him play with predigest that shi.. crap can fuc.. screw up your computer if you screw up. should have done it thru settings or ask Microsoft for "official" help And instead of buying a new one, use the key for a win 7 or above laptop or desktop you have (can be found on the bottom)
we talk to window and they said if you don't have a product key we can't help the windows update ate my product key
microsoft support is useless as always paying for windows is for chumps and corporations M$ doesn't care about you
^ Let's not suggest piracy Windows 10 keys should be tied to the hardware (motherboard in particular, AFAIK). Last month I wiped my laptop HDD and reinstalled Windows, and it self activated as the machine ID was the same. So, unless your hardware has changed, that should not be happening. First, you should really talk with whoever fixed (or better, messed up) with your PC. He should be solving that for you, as he did not do his job properly. Other solutions are cheap keys that can be found on some grey-market sites (be careful still)
call windows tech support jk don't do that you shouldn't have to activate windows but if its oem im not sure
microsoft provides working windows downloads that can be installed pending activation and you know the rest no distribution of copyright materials, no piracy
