That's not bad at all really. I have played when my rate was in the 150ms range and it was a mess...lol. Except for my days off I don't go online until
super late (12am+), west coast time.

Any of you guys using a preferred mod of any kind that you'd recommend?

Okay, when you get into that ~120 - 150ms range, is it just me or does your car start handling like its drunk?
I swear, when my ping jumps my car will start to handle like I'm driving on ice. Sucks when you're winning and then suddenly you slam into a wall at 90mph because your internet lagged a little.

Mods - VeryTrackPack. That is easily the best mod for the game.

Thanks for the mod advice! Yeah, when my ping is way up there my car will try to update after a bad lag, missing what happened for a bit and
I end up in a wall or worse yet someone finds an opportunity to royally cream me. It will also happen visually to opponent cars, usually warping
around all over the place as the game tries to catch up. Part of my issue is my own layout as I am using a netgear hub that splits to 3 other devices
and without a beefy Cisco router and 250Mbit service I probably wouldn't be able to even play online:cool:.

I've only had time to take a look at the new customization options for the Mustang, but I like what I see so far. Disappointed in the hoods though, and there isn't much variety for some options. Looking forward to seeing what they have added to the PV

I'm disappointed that the Rocket has fender with holes in the side, but doesn't have an option for fender-exit exhaust. Maybe the HotShot will have it, so I can actually make it into a gasser.

Latest update really made the visuals pop, almost to a fault believe it or not. AI tweaks much better, feels a good bit more "organic" and the crashes show it.
I can feel the sense of urgency by Bugabear to get this to retail ASAP.

Yeah, Bugbear definitely did some heavy work on the post-fx and texture clarity in this update. Tarmac 3 looks completely different (and running through the barrels no longer can make your car flip end-over-end.)

I just realized currently the Hot Shot and Mud Digger are considered wagons... I understand putting the Mud Digger as a wagon since it's currently the only truck, but how did someone manage to accidentally reclassify the Hot Shot as a wagon?..

Probably just a dev oversight. Keep your eyes peeled, you'll see a ton of stuff Bugbear has missed.

Had a nice bout of online tonight and I gotta' say the Roadcutter is the machine for me, especially on the dirt. Had a ton of seconds and a few
first places but there ALWAYS seems to be a single totally dominate player in nearly every race. Fun as hell none the less. The BC Banger
server has a nice feel to it.

Do you have a decent connection to that server? Whenever I see that one on the listing I have like 1-2 bars and ping all the way to kingdom come.
We really ought to find a good server for all of us that we can race each other on. @Aboroath which country are you from? I
Crash N' Bang server hasn't been on in a couple days, idk what's going on there.

In fact, what time zones are we all even in? Right now each of us might be playing while the others are asleep. lol
    I'm US-EST.

I have a 20ms or so ping all the time on that server. Probably because it's in BC Canada and I'm in Washington State:p.
Spent just about all freaking day on it today. Another good server I like is Festival Des Pains but my ping is right on the edge there.
Would be cool to find a server centrally located in the States that we all could join.

Thank you for the kind map review BTW!

I swear this only happens to me:
Stuck between guardrail and a billboard. No resetting. Reversing gets stuck against fence. I bottomed out over a blade of grass and flipped over the railing.

In other news, if any of you race "Wiley Wombat" - he will give you one hell of a run for your money. I only beat him by taking advantage of his Gatecrasher's weakness: turns. I dropped a gear and kicked it around every turn just to outpace him. Was quite nerve-racking.

There are some frustrating track geology related things going on for sure. The rocks that love to magically get a car high centered are a bit
maddening. Staying in the groove in this game is definitely paramount.

As for the wombat guy, must be on the UK server?....haven't encountered him yet. He sounds just like other "aces" though. How they get
an equally rated A class to perform like a TIE fighter is beyond me. Occasionally someone pipes up about cheating but how the hell do you
prove it? Personally I don't really care, those guys can live their boring lives winning their boring races. I'll stick with the "lessor" plebs and
    have some real fun:p.

So far I've been using automatic shifting and only dabbled in manual. I need to figure out a shifting scheme for my 360 controller that is
comfortable. My Roadcutter is fairly good but with manual it could be better. I have to say though, good, clean neck and neck racing in this game is friggin' exhilarating.

I think manual is almost necessary to win races online. I've always used this scheme:
    Y - upshift
    B - downshift
    A - reverse
    LB - handbrake
    LT - pedal brake
    RT - gas

However I've seen people use the C-stick for shifting too and having the d-pad mapped out to the camera. I can see the advantage here if you really prefer something similar to an actual gear shifter.
Anyways, the server I was on last night (like 11pm) was the Houston Texas Fiber server. Not too crowded but almost no lag.

I have the gears mapped to the shoulder buttons and throttle/brake on the triggers for my Logitech F710. It isn't efficient but it's what I find most natural.

I liked the Gremlin, but Bugbear took away its awesome drifting ability. You used to be able to yank the handbrake and glide it like it was AWD but now all it wants to do is understeer off the track.
    -----
If anybody wants to catch me online, I'm making the BC Banger Racing server my default server. The selection screen says I don't have a connection to it but I opened it and was playing with like 80ms ping so whatever. lol
I'll probably be online usually between 7-9PM EST.
