For me I'll have an automatic V6 diesel with rear wheel drive. Absolutely amazing performance and very good economy when you aren't throwing it down roads.
I'm a fan of this one, though I don't know what to call it. It's both FF and RR at the same time. (Tesla Model S powertrain)
Symmetrical full-time all wheel drive, a good old petrol eight- or six-cylinder in the front and a manual. What can be better? Oh, the same thing, but with Hi/Lo option and diff locks.
Well I've never driven anything other than a Front engined FWD car, but I do like modern diesels. The fuel economy and the abundance of torque are great for everyday driving, and power isn't bad either. The Seat Leon TDI I had in my driving lessons sure as hell was quicker than the petrol KIA I drive now.
I know, the demise of diesels is a shame. Especially large capacity diesels that power SUVs, only even larger petrol engines can replace their torque and ease of driving. But in doing so don't match the efficiency.
Mine's gotta be AWD, Boxer four engine which Subaru Impreza WRX STi has. (not completely sure if its a boxer 4)
