So.. today i was out and about. I was driving home, when i saw a RHD compact Honda. You saw right, RHD. In the USA. Its not the first RHD car ive seen irl. I once saw a Sileighty RHD at anime convention 2016 Anyway, i have no idea what it was, take a look: This is the only pic. Looks like the Cappuccino from Initial-D, even tough its a Honda. Anyone know what it is??
ahhh. Thanks for letting me know, i never even knew there was a car called the Honda Beat. Hah, i guesd you learn new things everyday. Also, do you know what countries they sell in? The one i saw was probably an import from Japan.
Yeah, japan only It's one of the more popular 'sporty' k-cars (small cars with small engines which received the 'yellow plate' in japan -> lower taxes) Like pretty much all k-cars, because of the taxing it only made sense to sell this in japan. It's a shame because i'd definitely buy one lol
I bought a Cappuccino for my wife when we married. It was a grey import, RHD and square plate. EDIT - Fixed, RHD not LHD.
Every car sold officially in America has to be LHD by law, most Japanese imports are RHD. I am saying most because Honda made a USDM Accord for the JDM market called Honda of America Accord. It has Japanese writing inside but it's LHD, It's got a 2.0L because of the Japanese road tax prices (the US got a 2.2L afaik), These were built at the Ohio Honda Plant. If you look through the front glass you can see it's LHD [Edit] This is the Honda of America badge These were also sold in the UK yet very rare.
It's a Honda Beat, the victory in one of Honda employees' bet if there can be a sports car with a smaller engine than an Austin-Healey Sprite.
