What do you think about this implemented computer app Google Earth?
I think that it's pretty good, but there's multiple issues that doesn't help it at all.

The biggest one is the flat areas of smaller areas, along with these cuts:

(This error is in Puerto Rico)

It shouldn't do that, otherwise it looks quite lazy.

I absolutely love Google Earth. The fact that it is artificially computer modeled from satellite imagery and it is that accurate is amazing. Have you checked out the VR abilities of it yet? If you get in a highly visited area, such as the Eiffel Tower or some such monument, then it will almost always be better quality. But if it can model the gaps between the bricks I laid down in my rose garden from last year, then I think it's accurate enough for me. And it's only getting better.

There's a flight simulator built in. How can you not like it?

I do like the idea of seeing the history of the scanned area until the last recorded satellite image of so.
I just find those errors, like the PR error above a bit off, and I gotta be honest, it actually makes it a bit unfinished.

Yeah, in some areas it's not the best. So the computer makes the best 3D model it can, and it's not always correct. Also, a really cool thing is if you go into a previously photographed area, i.e. Los Angeles, you can view old photography that's been pasted over what is there today. Just use the date slider and slide it back to 1946.

It also will have unmodelled areas (i.e rural France) or cuts (i.e outside PR capitol).

Yeah, usually the less civilization, the less modeling is done because less satellites have flown over and less google cars have driven through it.

But some make no sense. For example, Cuba is not even modeled at all, even the capitol isn't.

Well that's because some places don't like google snooping around taking photos of everything. Some countries have laws against it. Some countries let them only photograph impressive landmarks and that's it. They have to abide by that country's laws.

It still looks unfinished, especially when they are able to model most of the US, but areas like most of Cape Cod aren't modeled, that gets me confused.

It does, but the computer does what it can do, and like I said it's getting better all the time.

It often do that with temporary non-static structures.
Example 1, a destroyed building with newly build apartments :
    1.png
    Example 2, cars on a road :
    2.png

The technology behind this is photogrammetry. It is everything but lazy. You can try to do some with drones or a series of photos and see the results, it will look way uglier than this.
Even tree foliages has volume. Doesn't look unfinished to me.

It is usualy done with small airplanes. Look for planes flying a zig-zag pattern over cities.

Considering Google is an American company, I think neither Cuba nor the US government want to do this.
Some sensitive areas (ie : important political structures, military and intelligence related) are usually blurred or poorly detailed

The problem still shows with normal, public areas like Cape Cod. Plus, when I mean unfinished, I mean that it's not properly shaped, and it kind of ruins it. But it's still really good, and I also like that they implemented other planets, and even space itself.
