Welcome to the forums! But in all seriousness, you should at first make a proper model of the body, then go for other styles or even other vehicles. When you don't learn how to properly make a mesh, then go onto other parts of the vehicle, it all will be a pile of crap that you will have to rework more than once. People here are just trying to help you, seeing as you didn't fully understand how to make a proper mesh for your vehicle & went onto creating other body styles for it while the main one was still broken

I would argue but everyone knows that's how the minicovet died. I was originally trying to do everything said,.but people chimed in with ideas, so I.tried implementing them. I am now stuck between a rock and a hard place, either redo it again to everyone's liking or try to improve what I have. Both will feel like wasted time. No matter what I do there is a constant flow of issues. I will probably cease work on the cuatro for a while so I can decide what I want to do with the mod. If anyone has decent tips for texturing please leave them here aside from that I may decide to drop the project to work on something I want to do. At the moment I cannot decide whether to continue or not.

IMO, it would be easier to redo certain parts than just trying to fix them. Sometimes you spend time on fixing a mesh but in the end it will still look broken, while you could make a new & better looking one in a much shorter time

The model and everything that you're settling with looks great, I absolutely love it. Take your time and take breaks, I know how annoying it can be, there was these two times I tried to do some stuff and miserably failed because a piece of the model was separated and I couldn't remove it or get it back onto the model.
I am more than sure that this will eventually come through and be a fantastic mod. Yes it sounds like shitty pep talk, but seriously, don't give up.

I've subscribed to this thread, It's a very interesting project tbh,
like the rest said, the poly flow needs refinement because a poor polyflow makes the model a mess and could possibly affect the deformation of the vehicle drastically. Not too much nor not too few polygons, make a decent flow and it'll look professional
Take your time, good things takes a long process :)

Thanks for the compliments on the mod, however I still need to think about what to do, I think that I'm going to work on the go-kart as that was my "test" vehicle (A simple car to use as a guinea pig). That will get me to grips with Jbeam and more importantly, texturing.
If anyone has any tips or tutorials for texturing it would be appreciated as I cannot understand Sh*t of the wiki's explanation.

I can't give you tips because I too am still learning on textures but there's a bunch of Uv unwrapping and texturing tutorials on Youtube, for texturing use Paint.Net for a start, it's like MS paint but with layers and more features or try Photosphop.

This is where I learned how to Uv unwrap

Photosphop, I know that was a mistake but it sounds amazing. I've already got paint.net and I know UV unwrapping but I am confused as to what comes next.

Right, well actually it'd be pretty cool to have a go kart in this game with realistic rpm and speed, do whatever you have to do friend

You know what? Soon as I've probably disappointed a lot of people by putting the cuatro on hold for a while, the first few people who respond with their favourite number and colour they will have racing skins made for them on the kart and the kart pickup (after cuatro is done). Also, if anyone likes a specific car style I may be able to add different bodies to the kart without wasting too much time.

Please still send in numbers and colors for liveries, I am keeping note of all of them, but here is my plan of action for the cuatro. In a week or two i'll work off of this list:
    1. Redo the entire brake system
    2. Redo the engine
    3. Make new wheel spindles
    4. Fix the entire rear suspension disaster (Will use the real car's odd suspension)
    5. At least try to make sense of the diffuse normal and spectacular maps. Still no clue about texturing this stuff.
    6. Get ideas for the roof rack as it will be a part of the 3 config release version
    7. According to Ulrich I need to do more research.
Just in case people want to point out a major flaw in either model here is the V6 Cuatro and V2 go-kart
Only the parts shown in the images are to be worked on the rest are for future use.

Okay end votes, Apparently I wasn't paying enough attention and now there are 6 different liveries.
