    Hey BeamNG,

I don't know if this is planned but I believe this can be very useful when driving the Gavril T-Series. Trucks like the Gavril T-Series require more gears, which currently is in a standard H-Shifter form introduced to the game. This can get complicated sometimes in reality so transmission manufacturers usually have either Range-Transmissions, Splitter-Transmissions, or Range-Splitter-Transmissions.

A Range-Transmission allows you to have two sets of gears. You can switch in-between them by using a lever or button. In BeamNG.drive's Gavril T-Series case, it could be two sets of H-Shift patterns with six gears. This option could make shifting on the Gavril T-Series much easier and realistic. The way it could look like is as following: 1|2|3|4|5|6 <=Range Change=> 7|8|9|10|11|12.

Splitter-Transmissions use the same technique as Range-Transmissions. But in a slightly different way. Instead of going 1|2|3|4|5|6 <=Range Change=> 7|8|9|10|11|12, Splitters go like 1|3|5|7|9|11 <=Split Change=> 2|4|6|8|10|12. And off course you can split using a lever or button. This could also be useful for the Gavril T-Series but could be more difficult for beginners. Again, this could option make shifting on the Gavril T-Series much easier and realistic.

A Range-Splitter-Transmission is more advanced. It combines both a Range-Transmission and Splitter-Transmission. This allows for even more gear ratios. Could be useful for 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, or even 19 or 20 gear transmissions. And off course, you can range and split the transmission using buttons or levers. These types of transmissions could be difficult for beginners as well like the splitter. But again this option could make shifting on the Gavril T-Series much easier and realistic.

If you guys really wonder how useful Range-Transmissions, Splitter-Transmissions, or Range-Splitter-Transmissions are, check out Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator.

For those that like polls, I have made one. @tdev, please consider looking into this.

    Cheers,
    Gregory U.

It's already possible to make one though i don't recall if there's a key binding for transfer cases

I suppose this is possible by advanced LUA coding? If so, that's impractical as every game update would break the transmission. I suggested this so you could just edit which mode the transmission uses in the jBeam and assign certain gears to which range or split. Thought this be could making both modding and game development easier.

No it's already possible. We've had range boxes in game for a while, hell i thought the t series was a 6 speed through a range box as of 0.8 anyway

Well, unfortunately, the T-Series is not a 6-Gear thru a range box. Such a shame.

Just been and checked. It is indeed a native 12 and the ratios it possesses make no sense from perspective of it either being a split box or a range box.

Technically from a powertrain perspective this is perfectly supported but we didn't have time yet to make it happen control wise. :)
Certainly on the todo list though.

I remember suggesting this back in 2015 and it still really needs to be added. It would make driving the T75 with a wheel very satisfying. Throw this dog a bone and please add this in!

Hey @Diamondback I have a question regarding the Jake Brake and retarders, are these planned features for the T-Series or not? Sorry for not creating a new thread by the way.

This thread is 35 days old so.. no biggie... but there is a mod i had that had lo/hi range to to split each gear perfectly on the T-series semi.... who made this mod i cant find it :( i recall it didn't have many gears but splitting them gave it about 16-18 gears total i think.. or just 16 but.. it worked MINT! on my ps3 controller just by going into high range in the same gear and and low range in the next gear and i got very used to that specific mod only...anyone with a link? i think its the only and best one i have ever used!
