What was the first thing you tried to make in BeamNG? It could be a car, map, skin, anything except configurations. The first thing I made was this box car by following Introduction to Vehicle Creation.
Interesting thread... One note, I do recommend adding a restriction on configurations here, as for they technically do not count as "Mods", unless the config or config pack adds new parts/models/skins/etc. to the game that do not come with it officially. Just saying. First thing I made for BeamNG was a map called Foothill Mines. No screenshots and idk if the map even works in new game versions (Search it up; It was only ever released on the forums.) The first vehicle mod I made which involved making all the JBeams from scratch or heavily modifying them was the Gavril Vendetta. It's available on the repo. Technically speaking my first vehicle mod on the repo is the Gavril Blue Collar series, but that and all my other unreleased "mods" before it were really just official cars with meshes swapped and nodes moved around; Not very much what constitutes a "Quality Mod"
my first actual vehicle mod was an even more buggy and broken version of the pigeon flat four mod: https://www.beamng.com/resources/pigeon-flat-four-swap.1599/ as for the first with custom made parts, probably the hot rod semi, which admittedly does only have a few bits of piping. https://www.beamng.com/threads/twin-engine-t-series.54000/
<The first thing that I put into game, it was a car called the 1988 TAZ 4WD/S. The first prop that I did. https://www.beamng.com/resources/lego-style-block-1x2.303/ The first mod to an official vehicle. https://www.beamng.com/resources/hatch-slant.831/
Serbian police skin for ETK 800 This is how first version looked like. This is how latest version looks like.
My Pigeon addon pack was my first mod. I'm still working on it. The first thing I actually added to the game was probably a really badly done Covet skin.
Some wheels I modelled years ago. https://www.beamng.com/threads/deve...picture-or-contributing-post.1575/#post-22196 Breaking the Covet shading (smoothing groups? Is something you eat? ) and with broken materials. All the day after the game was being sold.
Not really a mod but I managed to swap roamer wheels on h-series. It was before the common wheel system was added.
https://www.beamng.com/resources/gavril-variation-mod.608/ Made this over 2 years ago, and cringe every time I see it. I was thinking about remastering it just because, but decided against it because now it's basically just there as a reminder of how much I've learned over the years. Now, I can jBeam a car into the game, almost. Still a few problems before it's ready
I started with skinning the "Zakspeed Ford Capri" and the "VW Polo WRC", which are terrible, now looking at them. My first involvement in a mod was some skins in Raiders "FR16" mod. My first own mod that I uploaded was the "Other Motorsports Skin Pack", which I now took down again..
This thing: https://www.beamng.com/resources/dumpster.3552/ Sure glad I started with something super basic, anything more complex would probably have exceeded my patience and skills at the time. EDIT: derp, I did technically make Riverside Expressway before this. Jbeam is a whole different beast though
I think it was some car mod but I cant remember the name of it....it was back in 2013 so my memory is a little fuzzy from back then!
