what Mazda call rotary, is wankel. Rotary refers to a different layout entirely, an arrangement in which you have a usually odd number of cylinders surrounding a crankshaft in a ring, an aero engine most of time but the similar radial has been used in tanks and boats
This is a Rotary engine: FACT: Rotary engines are also called radial engines. This is a Wankel engine:
Why are you telling me this? After my post, do you not think I know this? Radial and rotary are also not the same. Specifically. Aero engines were normally radials. Tanks were radials. Fixed engine block, non fixed crankshaft. Rotary, the crankshaft is fixed, the engine block rotates around it, very bizarre setup.
Can we not discuss the difference between a Wankel Rotary and a Rotary and instead talk about the idea itself, please? Thank you. I made something that i think perfectly suits such an engine. I don't really now what to call it, but it's a Hirochi who personally feels like a very innovative brand in the BeamNG universe, with a turbocharged flat-4 supercar that also happens to be a shooting-brake wagon with rear seats. The coupé shown here has a Wankel engine displacing 750cc per rotor. With the car's 2-rotor layout, the engine displaces 1.5 liters. Turbochargers help give it an extra sizzle that ranges from a potent 350 HP to a whopping 550 HP with the 2.3 liter 3-rotor model. A naturally aspirated 2 rotor is also available with 270 HP on tap. AWD is optional while a Front-Mid engine, RWD layout is standard. Made from 2015 onwards. Also, I can program rotary engines if people are going to mod it, but only if that happens xD
Also, for all those that said that a true rotary can not be in a car... since we specified that we are not talking about a wankle... production cars were built with them... once So... I mean... why the hell not? This is just a game... anything is doable with enough imagination to make it work.
I believe people started calling Wankels rotary engines because they use rotors. Rotor-y engine? Also it'd be nice to have an FB or SA22C RX7 with some 80hp wankel that has no torque and gets 10MPG, but revs to 9000 and higher.
released? i would like to drive it. --- Post updated --- well, it is a very fitting car for it, and i would like to try to make a tourque curve mod thats like the rotary.
Why did I suddenly get a notification for this thread? Thanks for reminding me to make a daily complaint post on these forums.
