Ok so bugger to that idea :D, here's another Diesel sound mod this time from a DAF. Engine externals samples used as they are clearly by far and away the most "detailed" to use in game:

Obviously I don't want to crowd the market with too many versions, so I'll probably release this version for the Euro Truck mod, and try to get a Titan V8 or Kenworth V8 sound for the T-Series going forward then move on :).

Yeah it's ready for release however due to the seemingly overwhelming popularity of the 67 Camaro sound I didn't release the C5 sound.

However I am thinking of an update to release the stock engine as the C5 sound, but the race version as the 67 sounds with more power :).

Next up is I really really need help getting good diesel transit van sounds for the Van, some heavy V8 Cummins Diesel sounds for the Pickup truck and finally a really race oriented V10/12 sound for the faster cars :).

Then maybe when the campaign mode of the game comes closer I may start doing 'beater' versions of my engine sounds and exhaust mod upgrades provided the FMOD engine allows multi use of the blend files or a better, similar solution :).

Bit a random here for you but who wants to hear a Detroit Diesel 6-71 sound climbing up a hill and has about 4 minutes to spare? Well look no further :).

This is the work of only 6 samples. It just goes to show the more the merrier but I think surprisingly it came out a lot better than I thought. Ideally I need like a 1300rpm sample and a 2300rpm sample but this is the work of just a 500, a 1837 and a 2849rpm sample which I thought would murder the quality but overall...I'm reasonably happy with it.

Samples are from youtube video so you get what you can take but for now, this is a good start and gives hope for making sounds with less samples.

If it were up to me i'd have 30 samples 200rpm apart but hey, something different for you guys.

I'd like to volunteer a couple sound clips from my lumina if possible. One is some revving and the other is a short pull. If its not enough I can record some more and try to clean up the wind noise. I think it'd sound great on the Legran or new Pessima.

Hey. I'd need 500rpm holds at the absolute maximun from idle to redline and held for at least 5 seconds. Anything more than that the fmod blending just doesn't sound very good at all.

Ideally i'd prefer 300rpm intervals but i know that can be sometimes harder but if you can do it that would be awesome :).

I can certainly try, no tachometer so i'd have to play it by ear. Here's a vid I posted this morning once I got it moving to get a general idea of the sound.

I'd suggest using a phone app with something you can bluetooth from an OBD2 slot as it's becomming more and more crucial to have the EXACT rpm values relative to the blend curves for proper representations :).

Speaking off, hey all. Took a break both away from this and everything (holidays!) but i'm floating around again. Been working on some V6 sounds and also a diesel car sound.

Sample V6 Sound, inspired from a retro engine:

I've all but given up on the transit for now as i simply can't find one to use, however my personal car is in for some work at the moment at they've given me a Kia Cee'd Diesel courtesy car (rental) until the work is done lol.

On the plus side, it sounds suitably diesely and samples have come out pretty well :). On the down side relative to the above point, getting the EXACT rpms is so so vital is makes a whole recording session null and void if it's not done right.

    SO

Plan for tomorrow is, video the tachometer so i can see the exact revs, whilst still recording from the same location point, this way, I'll have synced audio and visuals to help get the RPMS sound perfect as possible within every possible way. It's a brand new model so it's actually surprisingly quiet compared to most "truck cars" as i call most diesel vechicles. The only issue is voiding peaking, I got idle to about 3000rpm perfect but up to redline around 4500 it blasts out too much, plus, for some reason it has an idle limiter after a few seconds of dropping the revs to 2500rpm peak (guessing for safety/stopping overheating) however again on the plus side, 1st gear rev matching at 250rpm intervals is surprisingly easy so i'll be doing that :).

Here, for now, is a couple of early recordings of different rpms to give you an idea of what to expect :):

That V6 sounds a heck of a lot like what I've got coming in my Gavril Engines mod. As soon as it gets published... :p

We've probably used the same samples lol, It's the DB4 forza 4 sound with a lot of fiddling applied to it xD.

Unfortunately my car still uses OBD1, i plan on changing that in the coming months once i solve the wheel rubbing and other issues. These other v6 sounds are great though.

Different sounds :). Yours is rather quiet and mine is a bit loud, go figure haha. Sounds nice for an automatic though, suits it.

Well, today I'm going to attempt to get these Diesel I4 sounds done again with help from a video, hopefully seeing the exact RPMS relative to the sound data will help match it up a lot better, will be back later with hopefully better results! :).

If you wish to have some challenge, here is I4 Diesel, engine is under the seats and exhaust is quite long, so it has bit more muffled sound than typical old I4 diesel of a car. It could serve several mods to have I4 diesel of such type though.

This is perhaps best of three:

Old girl was running hot today, ironically revving it brought the temp down, but i think i got a decent amount for you to work with. Revs are roughly 400-700rpm intervals with the rev limiter at 5500 rpm. Apologies if it sounds like the engine was wavering, fuel pump is having major issues atm. Hope this is a good sample!

Off topic a bit... but... where did you get that map? That looks like a map I used to play on RoR a LOOOOONG time ago... I used to test everything on that map back in the day... I am just curious is all.

As for the actual topic... if you want a lumpy but mildly tame (its a mid range dual Borla setup) L83 Chevy 350 V8 I could shoot a video similar to the one that Remington... if you would actually want it that is.

Any ideas of when this is being released in any way? The stock sounds on this thing are really bugigng me and this is already so much more useful

    Greetings all!

Had a long rest/re jigg but hope to back soon with some cool things on the way, no major promises yet but a small snippet:

    - I mayyy have a plan to get more "average/normal" vehicle sounds sourced and recorded for me personally, ranging from I4/Diesels/V6s/I6s etc, this purely depends on the responses from my source
    - I plan to move into other sound effects too such as munitions, guns, explosions etc again depending on time available to me
    - Other stuff

That's all for now, new year, new potentials. See you all soon.
