Yes the files are all there and i can set them up properly and they look nice. By the way i update my previous post just in case you hadn't noticed.

MY PREVIOUS EDIT: on closer inspection it is looking for the texture in the "C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG-DRIVE-0.3\levels" i think

I'm just gonna download it again now, in case of if you cancel this forever... Good luck fixing this though!

Oh, that's great. I'm going to have a look around to see if there's a way I can make a temp hotfix until I can upload the Fixed-Fixed Version. Thanks a bucket-load for the help, dude.

Its very easy for you to fix this for yourself if you want to. But it will break every time you update your game. All you will need to do is:

•press f11 while in game (alt+enter to put it in a window first).
•Then press f3 to get to the terrain painter.
•Then locate the warning material in the box at the right hand side of the screen.
    •Double click that

•then next to the word diffuse you need to click edit and go here: BeamNG-DRIVE-0.3\levels\DirtJam\art\terrain
•Find and open the file called: grass-02-d.dds

•Then click edit next to detail and load the exact same image file (dds file)
•Then do the exact same for the normal map except load this file instead: grass-02-n.dds

•Then click apply and select and all should be good

    - - - Updated - - -

I believe that replacing the file located here: BeamNG-DRIVE-0.3\levels\DirtJam\art\terrain\materials.cs

with the one that i have attached should fix it. Would be nice if someone could confirm this though

Sounds good! I've just been doing laps around this thing in the DSC Buggy. It's really fun. I just wish I could get some better fps. It's not 'choppy' but it's definitely slow. Nowhere near as smooth as Insane testing or things like that. I wouldn't expect it to be, given the style of the map. But yeah.. Where am I going with this... umm idk. But also I might suggest a little wider roads. It's great the way it is but I find myself going very slow because I'm afraid to go flying off the track. But all in all this map is very impressive. Especially since you did it in a matter of days. Something like this would take me weeks if not a month.

I was a little concerned about performance myself. I will see into adding occlusion areas, which should increase frames. As for the width of the track; I wanted it to be a little more realistic, but I can definitely consider adding/editing areas wider. Heck, I might even make a second, as this was pretty fun to do, and I'll be sure to learn from my mistakes. Thank you for the kind words!

I guess its time for me to give my opinions then.
Firstly the track is awesome, incredibly fun to drive around and quite unlike many of the million tropical islands we already have. The track layout is very good and the jumps also feel awesome, especially with the dsc buggy (even if it is a little unstable). The fact that you have to manage your throttle on this track and you cant just floor it over all of the jumps means that it is very satisfying when you nail the landing as it isn't always easy to do. I do agree with nicorator that adding a bit of width to the track could be nice just to give a little more room, 1 meter should do just fine (total, 0.5m on each side), nothing to drastic. Just enough so that you can correct on the landings if you do land a little bit sideways. But that would be quite difficult to adjust at this stage in development so i would totally understand it if you didn't want to. Perhaps the track could do with a little more sculpting around the edge, like put in some larger more sweeping hills in the more distant sections since they are flat there and you will hardly loose any fps for doing so.

This in its own right is a very good map, for your first it is astonishingly good. I will definitely make sure to check out any of your projects in the future.

Woooooooooo, wicked map, just tested it with the Scarab. ;)

There's a few odd jumps with no landing ramps, but other than that, it's epic! Thanks for making it.

PM me if you wanted Gmod. ;)

Very fun map, pretty bumpy for a truck, but the D-15 Trophy Truck handled it pretty well. That one big jump the truck can nail perfectly! Running a consistent 60fps+ but I do notice some choppiness, don't know if its map related or my system.

Made it a whole lap with minimal damage...really gotta time some of those jumps!

Re: Dirt Jam - Motocross Style Racing Track

As much as i love your efforts to bring a map like this to the community, as much do i hate to have to be nagging here.^^
When i drive i can't help to think "smooth is something else" all the time. :(
In first i thought it's me not able to drive the track with my gamepad, despite the fact i drove around 160k kilometers with it in live for speed, but then i took a closer look at the surface.
It is way to bumpy in my opinion, there are bumps even in the launch ramps of jumps for example, which is an absolute nogo and no one in real life would ever attempt to jump out of such ramps as it is uncontrollable. Again i hate to be that judicial, but wanna help to improve it. I ride bmx myself and build quite some ramps in many games and even "simulation" software of different kinds and so would just like to state what i think is most important.

    Straights:
First something you may negate with the arguement of raising the challenge:
It is ok if a straight between two jumps has bumps and holes, as long you can maintain a straight line of driving without to much steering. The bigger the holes and bumps the bigger the random difference in speed on the end of the straight, as you will never drive the exact same way throu these surface irregularitys and counter steering eats up a lot of speed. This, in the end, causes your jumpspeed to have bigger possible deviations to the optimal jump speed. While all you did was driving straight. This is made even harder by the track being only 3 meters wide.
Bmx tracks offten are allready 2-4 meter wide, not to speak about motocross mx tracks for races. I don't say there should be no bumps or holes but not such deep/high and small (diameter) ones. A longer and slightly flatter bump is allways better than a 2 tires long and half tire deep one, as the last one will just be a single strong hit to the suspension, no height change.

    Steep Turns:
At this one im not very sure if my opinion is that accurate to real life, but i will orientate me on trafficability.^^
The steep turns are in most cases and my opinion not steep enough, not to talk about their tiny size (height/depth).
Additional there are bumps all over them... there are no bumps in steep turns in any mx track i saw. The purpose of steep turns is to keep your travel speed all around the courner into the next straight. Bumps negate this advantage. In case a field of riders did create bumps and holes in the courner by accident, very fast there will be a new path created by the rounds going by and so it will smooth out again. This in mind i would think the steep courners should be completly smooth and a little more steep, i still drift throu them. As long the bumps dont make me barrelroll out of them...lol.^^

    Jumps:
This is something i would like to see changed, because otherwise this map is a complete fail in my eyes. Which wold be very sad as this map has potential!
There are bumps in the launch ramps, see pic below.
The shape of a launch ramp has to be a perfect concave pitch circle/ellipsis... allways! While driving up the launch ramp, the suspension will be compressed obviously, in case there is a convex bump half way throu it, the suspension will in first be compressed stronger by an instant change in the topology rather than a smooth one, and then it will push the car a littlebit out of the ramp(upwards). Right after that, it drops back into the ramp again, short in front of the top end of it.
This has the effect of the car jumping out of the ramp using the force of the compressed suspension, after impacting into the ramp the second time (short after the bump).
What you instead want to achieve is the car driving out of the ramp at its very end, while the suspension is compressed since the bottom of the ramp, so the tires get pushed out of the chassis into the empty air below the car. Nobody would drive this jump in RL in fear to get killed. :/

I took some screen to show what i mean. nogo2.jpg
In the red marked area, you have a convex shaped bump coming out of the concave shaped pitch circle we call ramp. ^^
In the green marked area, you have a good concave shape.
The blue line is the shape the middle part should have to provide a stable flight. :)

    Also... this:
    nogo1.jpg
This red marked shape is one single flat square, vehicle killer!^^

I hope you can take all this as constructive criticism, it is for sure nowhere near hating!
