I have been facing a mistake in the last version in that when changing the audio output from the headset to the loudspeakers and vice versa the game closes.
I've tried several configurations and I can not solve the problem.

How are you changing the device? Physically unplugging/plugging the cables?

I tested myself to see if there is a problem changing the audio output, here is a video.
I chose the audio output randomly, it is a legit audio output.

After the crash it shows the same thing on amaurics screen:

Thanks for the information and for the crash report. We've confirmed that this is the same issue that has been present for a while now.

The simplest way to fix this crash would be a full rewrite of parts of the audio system... however:
    - It would be a risky procedure, potentially introducing more problems than it solves.
    - It's also non-trivial, requiring an amount of development time that is better spent in more common stability issues and pending features.

Leaving the bug there, is not an option either, since this puts an extra load on our already overworked support team; it's not much, but everything counts towards the total.

Fortunately, there's another way to change the output device, which is to set up your default Windows audio device and then restart BeamNG.drive for the change to be picked up. This is often the only possibility in other games too.

For all these reasons listed above, we have decided that the best course of action for everyone is to remove this option from BeamNG.drive in a future update, and to instead rely on the Windows audio configuration.

We know some of you must have relied on this feature, that it has worked perfectly for you, and that at first sight its removal makes no sense for your particular case, but it really is the only realistic solution when looking at the whole picture, so we hope you understand this decision.
