The D-Series truck is my favourite vehicle in the game, but I don't like leaf springs or the bump steer with the straight front axle. So I was wondering if someone could make a coilover 4-link rear suspension and a coilover 3-link with panhard for the front like the old Jeep Grand Cherokee. may need to adjust the drag link also. I feel this would be much better for offroad and will eliminate most if not all of the bumpsteer. I can kind of do the modeling but its only in sketchup and I have no idea how to program it.
dont kill me or anything but the stock 1500 suspension is so light duty and bouncy and moveable it is already offroad worthy it cant payload 1,200 pounds
He meant that replying to old threads that haven't been posted in for a long time is generally frowned upon. Personally, I disagree, if there's any potential to start a halfway decent conversation I don't see any reason not to bump threads.
I've never had an issue with the suspension so much. The only issue i've had with the D series along with the H series is that after a few minutes of offroading, one of the wheels will become cocked out causing the car not drive straight and affect the turning circle. It doesn't show any damage so i'm not sure if its a glitch or whats happening.
That isn't a glitch. When you hit an object too fast it can knock the wheels out of alignment. This happens IRL if you clip a curb in your car. It can be prevented in BeamNG.drive by driving slowly and carefully, as you should offroad.
Well i do drive slowly, i never exceed 5 mph most of the time. I never have the problem with the hopper or roamer.
Vehicles are not equal, let's observe this Hummer for example: There is more issues with body not holding up Maybe jumping? Still goes perfectly straight, albeit a bit stanced at the front: Let's try this jump then: Engine died, but it still did coast perfectly straight, so it really depends from the vehicle, you just need to pick right vehicle for the job:
Yeah, thats why i use the Roamer. Its good off road and it doesn't break every time you lightly tap a pebble.
But does it flex? There is solution for D-series problems: https://www.beamng.com/threads/offroad-d-series-download-available.52590/
I've downloaded this before and it broke the Barstow. Don't know why but the engine would sit at least 6-10 inches higher poking out of the hood.
The author is working on a fix and as of around an hour ago he said he was going to release it ASAP. I think he only had the configurations to finish before it was ready
