This is probably a very strange and potentially unanswerable question in a single post, and I am probably one of the only people who care... but I am 100% curious as to the mathematics behind the JBeam Generator. Not so much for the suspension as that would probably be premade and just adjusted, but I am genuinely curious about how you guys went about fitting the nodes for the body to the mesh of the exported vehicle. Is it the same number of nodes each time? Is there Some sort of really neat fitting algorithm that you guys came up with? Does it use some form of interpolation to fit points onto a calculated surface? So many questions.

I myself have a sheet that I created and use at work that interpolates a surface from 9 independent points so you can visually see the path of greatest assent. That sounds incredibly simple to do, but for anyone that actually understands the mathematics behind it, it is a nightmare to accomplish. By the sounds of it, what you guys are doing is the opposite and you have the surface (the car body) and are fitting nodes to it via some sort of spacing and reverse interpolation algorithm. I would love to know how you did it... perhaps it is much simpler than that even? I don't know... but I would love to.

I have 83 hours in automation.
I reckon in about a year and a half that'll be around 1000.

now might be the time to get Automation. that $30 asking price was a turn off for me though.

There will be a sale during July if you own any one of the games.

Once this happens, if it works well I will buy Automation. This was a very good decision IMO. I'm hopeful that this will attract more attention to both games, and make the community better too.

I always hoped they Automation and .drive would work together, both are insanely realistic sims in their own aspects.
I'm insanely excited for this update!

I am so happy to hear this. I want to buy automation now.
This collaboration between the 2 devs will hopefully strengthen the development of both games and result in something more awesome then we ever could've expected.

    Keep up this amazing work!
    I love yall.

I totally did not see this coming. I might just be able to bring some of my car ideas to life thanks to this.

The only problems I see in this is car interiors, and one thing I've noticed about Automation is that engines are always unrealistically scaled, they always look small in their engine bay. If the meshes for the Automation cars are accessible and editable, it might be a little something 3D programs like Blender can fix.

I'm also guessing around that time the next BeamNG update may potentially drop too.

First Audi, now Automation. Who will BeamNG collaborate with next?

I heard it had to do with the game AI. I believe Audi is working on that with them.

    I might be wrong though.

They are developing systems for Audi to have autonomous driving AI locate itself and recognise the environment around it.

EDIT: Basically what is shown in one of the AI work threads:

I think we should definitely have an "Automation" Sub section to this forum site it would be nice but then again, its up to the admins to see what happens next with it but thats my own point of view on it

Will the cars that are imported from Automation be supported by the universal wheel system?

I really hope Automation devs will be updating that exporter to make more breakable parts on their cars... Because for now, they "feel" kinda bad by not deforming or getting damaged much :(

As someone who knows nothing about software, it seems that it should be easy to give the automation cars access to the universal wheels, Nomi wings, engines, steering wheels if they ever get an interior in the future, etc...

As a follow up to what I said about the Automation section is to have members from the Automation forums on here running the Automation Section on this forum and a team from our side to be on their forums running a BeamNG section, so a trade in resources if you will, its entire up to who does it and stuff, its just a theory at the moment its up to both dev teams to decide if they want this or not
