FWD steering breaks in reverse?

As someone that primarily uses this game to set up my own little demolition derbies, I really enjoy stripping the cars down and trying to see how close to a "real" derby car i can get them(gutted interior/exterior, changing rims, setting ride height, etc), then smashing the hell out of AI's(for now).

That being said, I've noticed something with the front wheel drive vehicles. The steering breaks far too easily while turning in reverse(or just generally driving in reverse). The "older" Ibishu Pessima seems to be the biggest culprit and tends to break sometimes while not even turning, just reversing in a straight line. The other FWD vehicles take a little more thrashing of the steering wheel, but I've noticed similar results between them all(including mods that I assume use a similar/same beam layout).

This can be easily duplicated, and works with a stock vehicle, unwrecked/fresh upon spawn. Would love to hear some feedback and possibly shed some light on this for anyone else that likes to smash stuff in reverse. Thanks

 

As far as I know this is cause by a mod. But also if you are using keyboard or non-wheel controller you can more easily break steering/wheels because of how hard and fast these devices will turn the wheels ingame. Especially if the wheels are against something like the level or another car.

 

Yeah I'm having the same issue. I used the tuning menu to make a custom pessima(it has a nice variety of parts and is fun to tune) and when I drive it hard the steering will break, especially if I hit a bump while the wheels are turned. It's a bit annoying but it might be because of the setup I have on it.
