Hello! I was having problems with map textures. I'm really new at map creation, so I might done something wrong. I picked map called "Template" for my map, changed all the files to my map name and etc. as this tutorial shows (), but the template doesn't have many buildings (actually none xD) and etc. so I needed to steal some from the other official maps like "east coast usa" and some of the other maps. So I didn't have problems with the stolen buildings, but what I did have a problem is textures, I seemed to change all the .cs files and etc. so it could work with my mod, but when I go to world editor and I go to textures and select let's say "rock" and I try to paint, it paints just black paint (and that's same with all textures apart from grass and sand I think) and not rock texture (you can see it in my attached file). If anyone could help me with that I would be more than happy to share my mod folder with you and you could check out what is the problem. Thanks for any bit of help! --- Post updated --- Also here is the folder:
From the second picture you can see all the preview are blank, meaning the game is not finding the textures. Cannot really tell if your paths are correct, since the folder path is cut in the last picture? Mind retaking that, with the top bar (full folder path) clearly visible?
Is the the 4th picture from above the materials.cs in that folder you posted above? Where are all these files located? (Documents/BeamNG.drive or installation folder?)
Yeah, the picture that I posted (the materials.cs) file is in the same folder as in the last picture. All files are zipped and located in mods folder, but I extracted here just to check some things.
Here where? Unzipping mods need particular precautions to work from the mods folder. Please, always give information about the paths/location of your files, they are pretty important to know.
Okay, I have my "Fairholt.zip" folder in mods folder, but when I need to work on the map, I always cutout (Ctrl+x) the "Fairholt.zip" file into my desktop folder, then I unzip and do all the work and again zip the folder and paste it in mods folder.
Just put your 'Fairholt' folder in Documents/BeamNG.drive/levels to work on it, no need to zip/unzip every time Does the game console shows any error when you open that terrain menu and the textures doesn't show up?
I see there is Grass and also Grass, problem is that game does not know which is which. Each name must be unique, what I did was to add number to separate them quickly, like Grass2 etc. Like you have done with other materials. Then another thing I spot is that you have space in Terrain 2 folder name, try to avoid using spaces, sometimes those mess things bad.
What a f... amazing day, accidentally deleted all my map copies... There was 3 copies, I deleted all of them. You might ask how. Well, I don't even know and I don't want to know. Anyway, learned the hard way and going to do 20 copies next time. Not going to give up. Planning to do everything from the start again prob now or tomorrow. Also, I tried to recover files, but the zip folder was damaged and I couldn't open it ;/.
