Plus, a lot of them are still on the road today, which says something about its reliability. It wasn't filled with electronic stuff as far as I know.
It was made until 2007. It'd be really shit if it couldn't last these 10-15 years. And electronics aren't an issue, cars with electronics have been with us for the last 5 decades and they get grounded by all the usual stuff - rust, expensive mechatronical failures, crashes, low value...
I guess I'm the only one who really hates the design, and would rather get a older Santa Fe than this.
Ford Mustang... mostly because it is overpriced, overrated, and is the most uncomfortable sports car I've had the displeasure of riding in. If you do ever get one... do yourself a favor and have the backseats removed. A Mustang does not need them, and they are useless in that car because of how little room there is. Mustang should be a two-seater only IMO.
The BMW X2. It’s a FWD BMW (!) coupe utility vehicle, which ends up costing 50,000 with options. It does look nice in blue, and I would be lucky to own one, but god I hope it isn’t the future of BMW. And on the topic of car we like to hate, there is no such thing as a bad car. A car is a car, and it will always have redeeming qualities and some fun about it in the right circumstances.
The second gen/current X1 is also FWD as well, considering both are now based on the Mini Countryman's platform, kind of weird, considering the first gen was RWD, and based on the 3 series E91platform.
Maybe because since they are all sub-compact crossovers, BMW found it easier to use the same platform for all three of them. Also, both the X1 and X2 are assembled in Regensburg, Germany (though the X1 was assembled in other countries (including China, Malaysia, Egypt, The Netherlands, and Indonesia)).
The X1 is also FWD, but it’s a totally different machine. It actually can carry things, and it costs 38,000$. Thats a lot less money then you pay for an X2, which is impractical and ludicrously expensive by comparison. I do not hate the X1. You need to have a transverse layout to maximize space in that sort of car. But the X2 is just a head scratch. Also @Fenneko they’re all compact, not subcompact, crossovers.
A coupe crossover is a head scratch by nature. It is made just because it sells. If it sells with FWD, then why not?
