Haha seems like we all bumped a 5-month-old thread from my post here http://www.beamng.com/threads/7043-Climate I'm not complaining though, this is a great map.
For some reason I'm getting about 0.5fps on this map. I get 63fps on Grid, Pure and about 40fps on maps with light vegetation. I'll try the older versions and see if they're the same. - - - Updated - - - I tried version 1.5 and and it too has a very poor frame rate. Is there really nobody else having trouble with this map in particular?
Well it's definitely on the more intensive side with all the animated rain and models. I'd seriously doubt that it's normal to get a framerate drop like that though. 40 fps on the Pure Grid isn't a lot though. What's your CPU? The game is very CPU intensive and yours might be overheating and slowing down.
I've got an i5-2400 (3.1GHz Quad-core). My CPU has never been the issue though, my GPU (Nvidia GeForce GT520) is what slows things down. I haven't experienced this problem in BeamNG before now, but in Rigs of Rods certain maps just didn't agree with my GPU and would run at <10 fps. I'm guessing the problem with this map is the same thing. For example the RoR map "Auriga Proving Grounds" runs at around 20 fps on my computer. My friend's laptop (Intel integrated graphics) runs it at about 40 fps. Vsync off, the map Flattsville County runs at around 120 fps on my computer, but around 50 fps on the laptop. I have absolutely no clue why my frame rate is crippled by certain maps when they are a piece of cake for integrated graphics. I guess I'll just have to keep this problem in mind when it comes time for a new computer.
Huh, I really don't know what might be causing that. You could start a thread about it to get some more opinions on what may be causing it.
same as the other guy i get like .5 fps and i usualy have over 60 somthing not right here sorta figured out the problem: As i turn all my graphics settings higher the fps rises why?????? i have no idea
ONE OF THE BEST MAPS IN BEAMNG; NICE TEXTURES ; GRUMBLE IN BACKGROUND AND LOTS OF LIGHT EFFECTS ; MUST DOWNLOAD THIS MAP!!!!
Only just got around to this map and it's really nice. It visually looks very good without massively draining my framerate, and the thunder and rain sounds are incredibly immersive. The lighthouse is also a nice touch, and the attention to detail just makes the whole place very picturesque. The paths are also a nice challenge while still being a comfortable cruise if you stick to the right paths, and there's also a lot of exploring to be done. Overall one of the most fun maps I've come across for just exploring. I made a video just cruising around it in the Gavril D15 Off-Road.
REALLY REALLY dislike the download method, too many adds popping up (and no, i will NOT use adblocker)
That's because this mod has been out of date for a long time now. Please don't bump out of date threads.
i just sorta popped up for me somewhere (maybe the "What's new?" section.....didn't bother to read the dates on the previous post, sorry about that
