Chances are, your CPU is probably the bottleneck, but I'll go ahead and assume this is a RAM limitation.

I'm not sure how similar to BeamNG handles physics compared to Rigs of Rods, but with ROR, Creak confirmed there was more of a benefit from faster RAM than increased capacity (I also tested this and was proved true). For all I know, this could be completely irrelevant with BeamNG, but it's worth a shot.

Map will actually consume RAM too. Maps don't load straight into VRAM, VRAM is for blitting items to the framebuffer. It will change with map complexity but not in a way that one might think.

Nope, just using as an example because it's the most detailed and intensive map. :p

well, you did basically say in that statement that you have played on the east coast map (excuse any typo's, my hands aren't responding that well atm)

I wasn't saying I haven't, it sounded like he was saying I made that post just to tell you guys I've played it. :p ( Should be obvious by now right? I've even posted pictures including the new GUI, I just can't show anything else.)

Anyway, point remains, it still a W.I.P, so it's obviously not fully optimized, which makes it a good benchmark to stress test for RAM, and it uses a lot. ;)

By the way, because you have a laptop (which use APUs), adding more RAM will help increase performance if, when playing games RAM is maxed out (the added RAM will make more room so it can be used by the GPU part of the APU). This is because APUs don't have the dedicated RAM the GPUs have (like a GTX 770 has 2GB of RAM).

I have a intel 2.4 duo core processor with nvidia integrated graphics and can run Beamng on low settings at possibly 15fps (playable). That is after I upgraded from 2gb of ram to 4gb of ram. I believe that integrated graphics pull 1/2 of a computer's ram so yes buying more ram should help.

Not half. Variable amount and capped to a certain amount, for an HD4000 its about 1.5gb Max, but if it doesn't need 1.5gb it will reallocate that for system usage again.

Adding more RAM will have a minor increase in FPS. Depending on how much you add.

    My Specs:

    - 4th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor
    - Operating System: Windows 8.1
    - 16GB Memory (RAM)
    - 750GB Hard Drive
    - Graphics Card: NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M with 2GB GDDR5

    A) Bump
    B) False unless you were running out of memory in the first place.
