TBH I don't think it's the tracks, I think it's the 'subway' vehicle itself. It seems to drop inside the new sets of tracks I made from scratch on the new city map I am working on (just in a few spots), while the hand-car is fine (the manual powered one). It's not quite something I can fix. Same for the tracks not connected properly, there's a bit of loss of precision with floating point on such a huge map. So in the end, it leaves me mostly unable to do anything about it. Just take it easy over dodgy joints, and for best experience, wait for a better train as i think the subway gauge is just a tad NARROW for the tracks it's supposed to be on. There's not too many bad joints, most the trains will take JUST FINE, but, there's a couple of them that might be able to be improved somehow. I have gotten trains across these when they were first put in. The only really bad one is down by the power plant near the bottom of the slope... (thing with smoke stacks, just to the north of the Samuel Rayburn Memorial Bridge that carries US 40 over the Emory River, is supposed to be a power plant...).
oh okay then subway is the only train that does not earrape me and is the only one I can find but thanks for that info it helps alot
Yes I will speak with the author about it, it used to work just fine, in fact, YBR has a video that's likely a year or more old, of where he was hitting cars in downtown Harriman on this very map, with the 'Subway' vehicle. It seemed to work just fine. I think something in the game updated, and they didn't update more than the bare minimum on that vehicle, is the likely cause. It *IS* super-duper sensitive to bad joints in the track though, and likes to climb a rail and derail. Now if only someone in BeamNG would make us a re-railer kit, we'd be set.
or a new train mod I love those even tho I can only find 2 one is earrape the others not the rest cancelled or will never be published
I ended up going for another long flight, and ended up finding some areas I had never seen before: Highlight from above video - It never ceases to amaze me how large this map is.
Nah, that ruins the fun of having such a large map. Cutting it up would probably take a lot of extra time and effort that bob can use on his other projects. In case you think I'm saying that because I have a good computer, I'm not. My laptop can't run the map, so my limited experience with it is on my younger brother's more powerful computer and videos from people like NewoFox.
You know, I wrote a review for this map assuming that I could go to the version history and download the previous version. Turns out I can't, sooo... yeah.
I love the map a lot I was not able to run it on my old crappy computer because it was i believe 4 years old soooo. Well any way i just bought a gaming rig and i decided i would love to finally be able to play this map witch i love but the reason i am making this comment is so i can figure out why when i drive my vehicle i can see under the road witch is rocks? i try to ignore it but its unrealistic and i like how the map is realistic but the reflection on my vehicle show that im driving on rocks witch im really driving on road, is there a way i can fix that i mean its not really a bug or problem but i don't know.
Yeah, dynamic reflections are bit bugged on this, instead of road it shows rocks, but then again keeping them off is usually what I do, they will be laggy or make game laggy, so are good mostly for screenshots.
Dynamic reflections are good sometimes though because it makes the wing mirrors and rear view mirror work.
This is what NDX wrote to Steam: So mirrors probably would be as heavy as with doing whole car as they are generated with many cameras. But have you attempted to reverse using mirrors like IRL, or have a trailer hooked to car and look to mirrors? With a Hopper for example, I remember trailer in mirror being quite good distance to left where it really was. I think only way would be adding mirror camera nodes and projecting image from those to mirrors, however I think I have read adding cameras not being quite possible for that or something. I guess it had something to with physics and only one camera possible to be active at same time. Dynamic reflection cameras are probably bit different. However I think mirrors are indeed one of the weak points currently, another being graphical performance being quite heavily relying on single core computing power, third would be AI, but then again all of those are probably at least somewhat WIP. Just not certain if there will ever be better mirrors. Oh and sorry, this is kinda off-topic :-/
Sure, but wouldn't there be a performance degrade anyways if you had a ton of objects having reflection?
I noticed that especially in building areas and all over the map cars are shaking for no reason is this a bug that will be fixed?
It would be nice to maybe have a more complex road system, for example, multiple highways going in the same direction and eventually splitting up or some kind of roundabout that connects different roads. It also would be great to have some variety while driving through the map because for the most part there are trees and grass which gets kinda boring after a while. Nonetheless, a great map and it's definitely worth downloading. Sorry if something like this is already in the works I didn't read everything
Hey @bob.blunderton I know you're busy with the new city map but seems like the latest update is causing some issues with this one. More things like these fences and the railings on the hotel being white from a distance. And ghostly fencing, fitting for the hallowen update...
