Stuck t 20-30 FPS

The game is stuck at 20-30 fps no matter what settings i have it on, maxed out or all on low. What to do?

 

What are your specs?

 

GPU: HD 7850
CPU: FX 8120 @ 4GHz
RAM: 8GB of 1600MHz

 

Unfortunately the game isn't very optimised for AMD CPUs. Try pressing "J" in-game and see if your FPS increases.

 

if i press J the fps goes up but i cant drive the car anymore

 

what map do you benchmark on? I can get pretty decent FPS on all the maps with almost any vehicle, my CPU stats are practically identical to yours and i suppose the last thing it could fall down to is the GPU
-And as stated before, AMD CPUs are not very well optimized but i think that is down to AMD's architecture.

 

By how much does your FPS go up? J stops the physics which means theres less load on your CPU. This can be used to check if your CPU is too slow.

Nah that GPU is definitely fast enough for BeamNG since I have a much weaker GPU and can run it.

Wow, yeah your CPU is too slow. I guess you'll have to wait until AMD CPUs are better supported

 

His CPU specs are pretty much the same as mine and i get great FPS (AMD could still be better optimized but i don't think it's the reason for the massive lag) maybe there is a bottleneck somewhere?

Which will be never. The only optimization will be using the GPU for physics calculation.

 

With his specs there isn't a bottleneck. Maybe it's not using all cores? I can load about 5 cars crashing together in realtime fine on my i5 2500k, and it's using all cores.

 

What do you mean with fine? Fine for me is over 50 fps, and I can only do that with 3 or less cars.

 

60+ with 1 or 2 cars, 45fps with about 5 is fine, I'm able to deal with the extra bit of lag unless it's just alone.

 

Make sure your CPU is not being throttled by overheating,clean your fans ect with some air,fixed my problem.

 

Same issue fps locked no matter what settings. I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 2.66Ghz.

 

What!? 120 FPS. Thats awsome. I normaly get 15.

 

When you press J the physics pause, so that's why it's 120 FPS.
