I charged the battery because it was too low to open the rear window on the tailgate I should make a walk around vid
well today, if everything goes according to plan, me and my dad are going to take the carb off the truck, take it apart, and clean the SOB. if it don't pass, then...... update @ 9:30am MDT: took the air cleaner off and the Carb looks filthy
another truck update. took the Carburetor apart. my dad says it NEEDED it bad. yes, that's a pizza platter tray thing. no, I don't care that it's being used like that. we put some of the parts in a tray in that gallon of Carb cleaner or what ever it is.
I removed the seized power locks from the bronco so I at least have working manual locks and I started prepping the roof for a new coat of paint
I removed some old stereo wiring that was not hooked to anything and I found the screws for all the interior bits missing them
Took (Kinda fell off itself) the seat off my project snowmobile, '91 Tundra LT. Only to find that the seat was held on with some wood and bolted to the tunnel. It turns out the bolts rusted out of the body leaving 2 finger sized holes in the tunnel. I cut out a replacement with some scrap wood I had laying around. Now I've got to patch up the holes in the tunnel before I can re-mount the seat. That or ride around standing up all the time.
painted the grille today. don't mind the copper paint, my dad thought it was a clear paint... what it looked like before
Thanks, It's only an SXT Plus, RWD, V6, Auto 8 speed transmission. I just had flowmaster super 10's put in place of the suitcase mufflers and had the resonator mufflers removed.
now it does dank whoolies --- Post updated --- stop buying new goddamn cars. why bother if you cant even afford a v8, just buy an old crapbox and learn how to make it go faster.
Not my car, but my mother's Dodge Journey (of doom!). Failed at replacing the battery, not because of incompetence but simply because "the book said a 26 would fit" when in fact it's just a bit too small, causing the posts to be a bit too close together, causing the negative cable, with typical large, clumsy connector, to not fit because of the huge, poorly designed battery bracket. Of course, it can't be rotated to fit because there's no freaking slack in the cable and the battery compartment is freaking tiny. And why is any of this a problem? Why, because the battery is hidden way down behind the front bumper where you have to take the left-front wheel and part of the inner fender off to get to it, of course! The space is so tight that there's a very real possibility of arcing the posts on chassis metal (about 6 inches from your face, natch) when removing or installing a battery! Here's a picture of the compartment, sans battery as I took this after I already got the old one out: Did I mention that I have an irrational fear of electricity and electrical sparks? And that this area really doesn't offer enough room, or cable slack, to maneuver the negative cable as easily as I'd like? So I wasted my whole day dealing with this, my mother is out $140 that she already doesn't have, and now we're both going to have to waste our labor days dealing with this again. The guy who designed this battery placement should be taken in a dark room and B E A T E N.
Yesterday I inspected the rear drums, and designed a little dome thing for the rims to replace the ones that fell off. I have to 3D print them soon. (Look up American Racing Outlaw ll rim, it has little domes around it, like bolts but fake)
been a few days now but the truck passed emissions with flying colors. half of the limit unlike 3 times the limit before. truck is also road legal now. my dad also put the truck in my name so there's that.
