This is technically theft, however it would be rather hypocritical if beamng didn't allow it as all the mods for beamng lately are models from forza, rr3, driver sf, etc.

    I accidentally misread your post.

    Sorry about that big confusion.

The problem with that definition in this case is that no property was taken from the owner. A copy was made, and used. This can in some cases still cause damage which is why copyright laws exist. BeamNG could choose to either let it go, or send a DMCA takedown request (which I hope they don't because this copy can not possibly be causing them any harm).

I don't know about other places, but all places where I have lived, had made no difference of copying software or content of said software and taking that new iPhone without paying.

Then again, they should put text to side of Pigeon "You want to experience real driving physics? Try BeamNG.Drive instead"

Put a few billboard mods up into GTAV that show all the different config options available for Pigeon and it would start to be advertising instead of stealing.

Where I live, copyright infringement and theft/larceny are separate crimes with separate penalties. Theft of physical property will definitely land you an arrest if you get caught, whereas copyright infringement might get you a notice from your ISP, a cease and desist letter or similar before legal action is taken. Both are illegal, but they are handled differently and covered by different laws. Also, copyright infringement is more likely to result in civil penalties without criminal ones than physical theft is (if you get caught stealing, you can expect a criminal charge to be filed against you).

Yeah, well, there are also other kind of places in the world, like this model society in this link, cops came to door with search warranties and all and that for sharing a song, nothing like taking game content and publishing it to some other game :D

This isn't justice, it is extortion. Also, piracy is unrelated to this thread as only a small part of the whole is involved (and it isn't even the game itself). I'm not 100% sure, but this mod for GTA V might even fall under fair use.
