I love "This would mean it would add a bit of realism." Cities get flooded by mega tsunamis every day ;P Other than that, yes, it would indeed be extremely awesome. Dodging meteors whilst racing a coastal highway.
It's a nice idea but it will take a lot of time to implement this into the game and make it realistic but I do like the idea.
Not expecting that to be added to the gamemode list but ey.. you never know. Maybe something similar could be created, like an obstacle course
Mmmm... Sounds like it would be an interesting addition. Not so much on the mega tsunami part, but if certain roads had light flooding depending on the environment. For example; if there's a river right next to the road. Or tree branches on the road if the surrounding area is a forest.
+1, Perhaps some apocalypse scenarios That would make a good idea for a mini game actually. Remember the game split second?
I can do a post apocalyptic map, but not the meteors falling heheh that's out of my knowledge for now . But first map I'll do is the Euroncap test area, the one you see in all the crash tests of euroncaps, it'll just take me some days I guess.

Sounds like a good idea! I like the meteor dodging, earthquakes and stuff like that. The tsunami however seems interesting but I don't think it's necessary to have a tsunami.
Earthquakes sound nice , I'm not exactly sure, but I think you might be able to get the beams on the ground and shake them to produce the effect
If so, that would be insane You could have a sort of desert map with a volcano, and when you get near the volcano there's an eruption and the ground starts shaking, and you have to try and control your car and try not to crash
Sounds interesting! I think flash flooding and tornadoes would be the coolest disasters for BeamNG. The game Fuel (promising but disappointing open world driving game) added tornadoes as obstacles in some races. The player could either stay on the road and try to outrun the tornado, or veer off and risk losing the race. Risk vs. reward. The same could be applied to flash floods or tsunamis. I think it's an awesome idea, but would take a lot of time to implement. I hope we have some good programmers in the community!
I think adding natural disasters is way out of the scope of what the devs are planning for the BeamNG game. I wouldn't want them wasting their time on it, but if they bind a lot of the game's code to lua functions, I could see meteors and tornadoes added to the game quite easily by a third party. Tsunamis and earthquakes are probably another story depending on how the level system works in torque.
