Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release There isn't any download for me in the attachments...
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release he could still be uploading it, we'll find out soon i suppose
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release it takes a while to uplaod to the whole forum i think, it show up as "attachment" for me so itll be soon : )
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Looks decent for an early beta, but I'll advise you that the suspension is most likely not possible to model in the jbeam as of now. Most cars newer than the mid-90s have a MacPherson strut suspension, which requires slide nodes to function properly. Since slide nodes are not implemented in the physics engine yet, MacPherson struts are impossible to jbeam. Don't let that stop you though, for now you can mock up a different suspension while we wait for slide nodes to be implemented. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Basing it on the Moonhawk chassis makes absolutely no sense to me... it has a simulated separate perimeter frame and is a coupe, is RWD, and has live axle rear suspension. The Hyundai is a unibody FWD sedan with independent suspension all around. You'd be much better off basing it on the Grand Marshal's .jbeams (it doesn't have a physically simulated separate frame, and it's actually a sedan) and then using the suspension from the Covet.
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release I tried to get it on the Grand Marshal but for some reason it would crash, it likes the moonhawk : ) I'll give it another go later on though!
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Can't wait for the release of this..
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Any luck? I think it looks great BTW
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Can't find the download link or the attachment?
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Thanks all! Im not sure why the download is gone... I will find another way to upload it, I've started work on the fullsize jbeam and its coming along nicely, the beta should be ready by the beginning of the week! (Edit) file is back!
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Why drifting Hyundai? Because race car of course! Seriously though, the Moonhawk's jbeam is not the right one for this car. There is a world of differences between a 70's American coupe and a late 90's Korean saloon. Even the Grand Marshal jbeam is still vastly different from this car. My suggestion is that you use the jbeam from the Ibishu Covet. It's front wheel drive with independent suspension all round, just like the Hyundai. All you would need to do would be move the rear of the car back to match the wheelbase of the Hyundai, Adjust the rear so it has a boot and add in an extra 2 doors (You could shorten the front doors and copy them to the back). This may bee more work seem like more work than adapting the Grand Marshal jbeam, but the Covet jbeam is a much better place to start in terms of making it behave like this Hyundai, and all the jbeam editing will teach you alot about how they work, and how to eventually make your own [You may also want to add the textures and fix the smoothing groups too, it will look way better]
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Love the drifting Hyundai! If only i could do that in my real car ha. I'll have to try what you said and adapt the car to the Covet and the Grand Marshel but linking two different car jbeams together has failed for me so far, I haven't quite figured out how each file is called and how they are all connected. it'll be alot of work but like you said I'll learn more as I go. Soon I hope to create the jbeams structure from scratch based on the real cars behaviors! I would like to create an in-depth tutorial once I understand it all. maybe a youtube video or two.
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release Hmmmmmmm..... I think you are missing the rear doors ...
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release have no fear, alpha V2.0 is coming soon complete with rear doors and interior, it will still be ugly though until i can get the right colors and textures for it
Re: Yay I release to the world the ugliest extreme alpha release The front fascia started coming apart the second I spawned it. Apart from that I really like this
