Yes, car name is a car name, it is being worked on and put more time than color naming, so I'm quite certain some checks have been made, or then I'm wrong, but that never happens, only world can be wrong and we change that pronto!
Has it occurred to any of you that one of the devs is italian and it's just a placeholder name so they don't spoil anything before they release it?
I can assure you "Autobello": - Sounds awful... - Sounds more like a condom brand... - Is not really correct ("Car" is feminine in Italian, while "Bello" is masculine, so automated translations are off) - Is not historically consistent either, as registering a business name for a company in Italy once required the name of the founder, the description of the product category or both. Unless it's a bit like "Autobianchi" and "Bello" is actually the surname of the founder, that is, but that would be a bit of a stretch...
If it’s this big of a deal let’s just go back to calling it the mystery car and call it a day then =P
I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but there is a "BeamNG Official Content" badge on the Autobello's tab in the selector.
It seems that new car is clearly based on Fiat/Seat/Zastava/Any other rebrand 600 A few variants that would be nice to see Base 600 D (with roofrack) 800 (4 door 600) 600 van / Siata Formichetta/Costa Rat version
My worry is that Italy will launch with a lack of related vehicle configurations. The same issue is present with the Automation Test Track (Also a lack of RHD cars, but that's a different story). It's a massive immersion killer to be stuck with configurations from the US. Only 4 configurations, total, are known to be from other countries. France: Hirochi Sunburst Gendarmerie Germany: ETK 800 Series Polizei ETK K Series Highway Police ETK 800 Series Driving Experience (Might not be exclusively German if there are other "ETK Driving Experience" facilities throughout the world) The main issue is that the only blatantly Non-American vehicle configurations are police vehicles. Although I usually go on a tangent about a lack of police vehicles, even the devs adding police vehicles for the maps is simply not enough. We need other kinds of configurations as well, such as work and delivery vehicles, Fire/EMS vehicles, busses, and so on that would fit with those locations. I highly doubt that most of the brands and agencies in BeamNG would operate in Italy, Germany, and New Zealand.
There are two RHD vehicles though, which could have police livery, although I'm not sure how high speed chases with Pigeon would sort out. RHD variants and LHD variants of each vehicle might be some good and relatively low work goodies to be added.
Only certain vehicles would have both. Likely the Miramar and Pigeon would stay RHD only, aswell as a number of the American cars.
The Bolide could possibly get a police configuration. Or, unlikely, but they could surprise us with a new Civetta entirely. (Though with the Autobello, that's pretty much out of the question) I strongly agree about the police cars however. The 200BX is the greatest offender in my opinion with it being a US configuration. Though you could say since there isn't a map set in japan it is reasonable.
I don't believe any Italian law enforcement agency ever owned a 80's supercar. Correct me if I'm wrong.
