So my best time is a 1:53.8 That stage was some serious fun. I remember bashing around with the Bolide going the other direction back when I just brought the game. It was great, but this direction feels better. I actually got a 1:52.2 but the recording wasn't saved for some reason.
This week's run, a 3:08.423. Using G27 with assists off and the stock setup provided for ETK-I. It was not a very consistent run, still learning the car and also unsure how agressively to attack those sidewalks. Maybe I've been too cautious with them? Curious to see what lines you guys take. On the 2nd lap, I completely missed the apex for T1. Easily a whole second lost. Two corners later, I mis-shifted, the rear went too wide and bumped into some rock. With the momentary chaos, I let the engine fall out of its power band losing some precious turbo boost. Probably a few tenths lost there too. The rest of the run was good enough so I called it a day. Really enjoying this! (also, learnt how to record videos)
RIP many side view mirrors. I lost a few tenths in the very last turn with a rough bounce on the outer sidewalk, just enough to put me in range of that second and a few tenths estimate of @stenyak and his potential best run. Xbox 360 controller (no assists), time of 3'07.350 in the Hirochi Sunburst with gear tuning. Also, since I know this doesn't come naturally to some, here's my transmission setup for this event if Sunburst users want to experiment with it. Bonus, skid plate. Gave it a go again, this time with more sidewalk, fewer mirrors , and another mis-shift. Final time was 3:05.816 Focused too much on entry sidewalks, missing several apices. Nothing important, except for the apex of last turn (which leads to the tarmac straight). No idea how much time I may have lost with that. Also, I lowered the setup's braking force down to 40%, otherwise I was only able to use half the pedal travel, which was leading to missed braking points.
I had a lot of fun with this stage, but not a lot of success. My final time was 3:16.103 G27, shortened the higher gears on the car (video may still be uploading)
I didn't have enough time this past week for this one. I only had two completed attempts, and a sub-par time. 03:26:328 Just like last year, that first turn kills me. Such a difficult one with the silly tree hit-box (see the end of my video).
Xbox 360 controller (no assists), time of 3'05.978 in the Hirochi Sunburst with gear tuning. Running lap PB is two tenths faster but I couldn't get it either lap with the fast enough 1st lap for a full run. RIP. Posting a picture so I don't risk wasting upload bandwidth in case I wake up early enough to make any improvements
While not being able to even attempt (work :-/ ) the second stage, I managed a more or less acceptable time on the 3rd stage. 3:14.928 min with the Sunburst (untuned) on a Thrustmaster T500 RS. I will not be able to upload the video, because since yesterday my internetconnection is broken. I'll accept any "no video, no proof" Isn't the best time anyway ...
BRC Sunburst and keyboard 03:53:892 Absolutely no time this week, so there is my first complete run (I believe that I have more points with this bad time than just dropping event, because people losing interest in later stages)
I'd hate to reject your time so hopefully your internet comes back soon and you can upload it then edit and by soon I mean the next two days, since the rules allow that
This is possibly the most time I've put into an event and all for two tenths, but I did it. Xbox 360 controller (no assists), time of 3'05.766 in the Hirochi Sunburst with gear tuning.
Too late for me today. Well done! Specially remarkable with a gamepad. I think it would be best if we just post our times at the very last second; this way we don't have to invest time improving each other's times :-D
What an interesting battle at the top. Also hopefully -randy- can upload within the next couple days so I can claim my rightful fourth place. Here are the standings following stage 3 Best of luck on the last stage, it's a long one. If you can finish it, you can get points!
True, but then there'd be two less videos of max effort rally racing in BeamNG and that'd be a shame. Also, I sync'd up our fastest runs so they can be viewed side-by-side. It's interesting how far behind the Sunburst gets at some points, very much a speed car vs handling car battle. Yeah, even in the previous stage it seemed clear that the I-series is a straightline machine but useless in corners, while the Sunburst drags on the straights but really grips when braking and turning. This side by side comparison is nice, you can see the immense difference in braking points for example.
Well, my modem gave up now. I had some hopes left, but with this piece of junk I won't be able to even connect to the internet. Tomorrow is a legal holiday in germany so no replacement in sight. More luck next time. Congrats to the well earned podium
