.dae is just a container, it really does not matter if you have one or many, but if you want to have different materials.cs file from some insane reason, then different dae files are put to different folders with each of them having own materials.cs with them.

In jbeam file you just tell name of the mesh in flexbody section and game goes trough all dae files looking for mesh named by what you wrote into jbeam file, that is good to keep in mind when giving name to materials, parts and meshes as you can easily end up to conflicts etc.

    Not necessarily.

It's important for materials.cs files to be in subfolders not to override the main one, but meshfiles can be anywhere, even stored all together in the root folder of the vehicle.

But then it gets even MORE confusing, it is much better to keep materials.cs paired with .dae so one does not get completely lost of which of them was for which :p

I keep jbeam files in main folder, but dae and materials.cs I shove away to subfolders and keep them together so that I don't get too confused, even normal situation I tend to be pretty confused, so any additional confusion might jolt the balance toward chaos :D

Sure, best practices are great and all, I was just pointing out they are not strictly mandatory.

The Addon Pack for my mod is a good example of best practices not being quite the best in specific scenarios, DAEs are all in main folder for very good reasons.

The individual dae files I plan to delete as soon as I get the mesh of the truck done, lots to fix, the exhaust pipe not being complete, frame being garbage etc. When I'm finished there should only be one dae file, one materials script and then all the jbeam in the universe lmao! I'm only breaking it down that way to get "clean" jbeam's of each part, it took my pc 45 minutes to convert out a 10.6mb dae into a jbeam. You also indirectly answered some questions I was just about to ask! I have, at least I hope I have enough for something to show up in game at the least, yet it isn't, I just wanna make sure I'm doing alright and not seriously screwing the pooch on this early in. Are these correctly done so far?

If I could get into contact with him, I could try and finish this truck.
