Hi All, I'm new to BeamNG and I plan to create some scene (create new mods) for training purposes. The question is: Is there any legal problem to download an already available mod, make some changes, like add tasks, etc and use this mod in my devices? Regards, Norbert
AFAIK, it's perfectly fine, so long as you don't re upload it after you modify it, or if you do, you ask the original author for permission first.
For your own personal use it should be fine unless the author of does not allow it. Just make sure to not upload this mod for others to download it/ send it to others.
Hi, basically, the end usage is not personal use only, but it will be used in driver training without uploading it. Can somebody point me an exact term, EULA, whatever that can say exactly the related rules?
Only the staff would know how to help you here, @Nadeox1 can you provide some "spiritual wisdom" here please?
Consult the author of the original mod, and until you have his permission, don't make it public. Easy as that. You are allowed to do whatever you want to any mod, as long as you don't share it unless you have the permission of the author. I wouldn't really drag too much legal stuff into this, afterall it is all free downloads etc. just be ethical
If it's for your own personal use, I don't see a problem. If you plan to distribute the mod to the public, you should definitively ask for permissions to the original author first. It's just common sense and do the nicer thing
