not that I'm requesting it, but are you considering to eventually add the Civilian-spec Hummer H1 interior?

Oh you lazy bum, not changing even a color to pink! :D :D

Looking great and from that shot one can see also how much space that vehicle's design is kinda wasting, luggage space is not that huge compared to size of the vehicle.

No, its not... it's actually pretty pathetically laid out... Honestly, that center tunnel in some places can be dropped by almost a foot... but AM saw that as expensive and figured it's easier to load things onto a flat floor (which they are right, Im not going to argue with that) so the entire center tunnel ended up becoming the height of the transmission. :p

You can tell though that someone planned on making the floor lower at one point though by looking at the frame. Those curves to drop the frame in the center are kinda pointless when the entire truck sits around the frame rather than on top of it anyways... So they could have saved even more money their by making straighter frame rails... but they didn't...

The HMMWV is an AM General product. GM may be an additional production contractor but AM Gen. still holds the rights.
The H1 always was an AM General vehicle.
GM only bought the rights to the "Hummer" name in the '90s so they could sell boxified versions of the 2500HD (H2) and Colorado/canyon (H3) chassis under that name.

As you noted, the square floor above the transmission tunnel is additional load space. Someone probably decided to prioritize offroad mobilty/clearance vs maximal interior space early in the program.
Had they gone the other way, the Army would've mandated the retrofit of SOMETHING to add blunt edges and cramp that space anyway, lol!

Your right... I don't know why I always mix those two up in my head... every time I go to type AM I get GM and vice versa...

Heh, happens to me on occasion, too! Usually more while speaking, though.

Will the standard grille/hood be available too?

Well, we had it at one time... but I am not sure whether we still have it or not. That would be a question for Sithhy.

Update: Now we have headlights! They aren't clear yet and don't turn on yet... but I spent most of today setting them up so when they break, they act like they are held in with wires... flopping around and what not, then when the wire breaks, the light just go flying!

That's awesome! Has it been done on any other vehicles before or is this a new thing? I have never seen lights do that in the game so I would love to see how it turns out :D

The amount of detail in this mod is amazing already! I can't think how amazing it will be when it gets fully released!

This is a first. @atv_123 and @Sithhy™ are making this mod even better that what it originally was. I’m so proud that it’s becoming something so great. The level of detail in this machine is phenomenal. And with so many never before seen things being added like these lights is why I stick around.

Mechanically I am trying to make this as detailed a possible... no exceptions.

Granted... having said that, is this really the first mod to have simulated wires for the lights? I mean... technically speaking, I haven't actually set up the break groups yet... so they are a bit unrealistically strong, but even still... I feel like someone else must have done this. It's pretty easy to setup and only took me about an hour... once I got one side setup, I just copied and pasted all the values to the other side... boom, done. I plan to have the same thing done for both the turn signals and the brake lights as well.

The procar has something like that (and the default pessima as well I think?) So not the first but still one of the few :)
Anyways, this mod is progressing well, I think it will turn out great :) good luck! Are you also working on the FFB feel or not doing that?
    Keep it up :)

Well, the real one has a lower amount of "feedback" through the wheel. Currently (rather accidentally) the B1 has almost no feedback... witch does make it feel like a big truck. But it also feels kinda odd... I want to get it up to at least "some" feedback. Not too much so that you break your hand when your front wheel pushes into a rock on a trail, but enough that you can feel that rock and definitely know it's there and causing you issues.

Interestingly, it seems that the game has a nifty mechanic in it that almost adds power steering in when there is natural resistance in the system. For instance, right now I have a lot of damping in the front steering system (was having a lot of problems with floppy wheels until recently... fixed all of that now though) and to keep the vehicle steering normally, Beam seems to have taken all of that resistance out of the equation and turned it into feeling like power steering. I find that very interesting. This also means that the amount of feedback you feel is pretty much analogous to how much damping is built into your steering system. Right now there is so much damping in the steering system that Beam lets me turn my wheel with only 1 finger... so... if my theory is correct... when I reduce some of the damping, that should add in road feel and take away the "power" steering feel.

I guess I should pose this question to everyone though... well... everyone using a wheel... how much feel should a give it?

    1. Almost nothing like their is now?
    2. Enough to feel rocks and potholes and be aware of the surface, but not much more than that.
    3. Enough to feel differences in the road surface, like when you switch from pavement to dirt, sand, or mud.
    4. Just let it have everything and let me tune it in my wheel settings menu
    5. Something else?
